Schick 2.0 (Mac OS X)

is this still being maintained?

this would be perfect, if a) its reliability would be improved b) interface would be made even more convenient [alert admin]

Apple Logic Pro 7.2.1 (Mac OS X)

still not optimized for PowerMac G5 Quad

as it is being discussed on some audio-specialized sites/forums, logic pro could NOT use the full horsepower of the quad machines, unless you are setting up a local logic node. version 7.2.1 did NOT fix this peculiar restriction. [alert admin]

Portable Cyberduck 2.5.5 r1.0 (Mac OS X)

this is ...

actually a nice idea ... having your favourites, prefs etc. with you on the go. especially when it comes to your daily tools, app-portability is worth considering. [alert admin]

Smultron 1.2.6 (Mac OS X)

BUT: still a few things to iron out ...

while i love this app, trying to use it full-time still exposes some weak points ... screen redraws: i must report that the scrolling has gotten pretty laggy (again?). this has still mostly to do with the syntax colouring. obviously now, the visible screen content gets rerendered/-coloured on every scrolling. this also explains why multi-line commented out parts are flashing their colours when scrolling into/out of the visible frame. i can't say how this can be improved, but SubEthaEdit proves that this can be done in an excellent manner, functionality- and speedwise. SEE also acts more reasonable when it comes to context-sensitive syntax coloring IMHO. btw: disabling smooth scrolling in the system prefs hardly helps with the speed ... tabbing: what keystroke tabs lines/blocks in the reverse direction?? neither shift-tab or alt-tab do anything in that regard ... even toolbar-buttons like in SEE would help (btw: the functions entab/detab do nothing obvious for me - if those were supposed to handle this?) Schick 2.0 (Mac OS X)

suggestions

this is a neat thing basically, but i think the interface could be more optimized. i would love to have aqua status bars in the browser window itself (for both ways). think of the safari download manager. it has happened to me that i dropped a file into the window, then trying to figure out if it actually is being sent or not (because sometimes it apparently fails without any kind of message). at any rate i would prefer seeing activity at a glance without having to open an additional log window ... Smultron 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

very nice effort!

i really like the look and feel as well as the featureset of this app. still there's a few observations i have made and wanted to share here: * the "recolour whole page immediately after every pressed key" preference appears to do the opposite of what it is supposed to do * when you insert a word via autocompletion and place the cursor after the proposed word with the mouse without pressing enter, things start acting weird and unresponsive afterwards * selecting a word in the autocomplete list doesn´t insert the word in some occasions (i haven´t yet been able to nail down the exact circumstances), and if would be nice to have to scrollwheel working in the list :-) * indenting/unindenting seems a tad too laggy that said i would love to see this application evolve into the best cocoa-freeware-editor there is! :-) [alert admin]

DOSBox 0.62 (Mac OS X)

SERIOUS INPUT PROBLEMS!!

... yes i´m shouting! ;) i can´t enter characters like :; etc. on a german keyboard, and it doesn´t properly interpret the keys in international/us keyboard-fashion either. used to work fine in 0.61. [alert admin]

Cyberduck 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

speed MIA ...

i have to agree with the last comment. you know i like the cyberduck interface very much, but all the handshaking/dir-changing etc. is like an unreleased handbrake ... i´m sorry to see that other software does this much better (transmit, obviously fugu too ... haven´t used that myself since a long time). please please, i really hope this gets improved, because then cyberduck will be a true killer app. [alert admin]

Name Already Taken

in fact "generator" was the name of the predecessor to the software that eventually became N.I. reaktor. quite some years have passed though since then ... :)

Promising

of course photoshop can do pixel lines ... vector stuff was only introduced in v7 IIRC. anyway, you can select between form shapes, paths or pixel.

Slower than limewire

launches in 2 1/2 bounces here on a G4 powerbook 1.33. i suspect there is something wrong with your setup ... comparing this to limewire seems pretty much ridiculous.
