Bleck!!

I thought the old TomTom Home was bad. This new release REALLY sucks. Anyone want to buy a TomTom Go 510? Smittie [alert admin]

BluePhoneElite 2.0b7 (Mac OS X)

For v1 Users Only

From the MIRA web site:

  • BPE2 is not ready to replace BPE1 and I am not selling BPE2 activation codes until it is ready. BPE1 activation codes are the temporary solution to help direct non-testers away from BPE2. Previous BPE1 customers can try the beta, users testing particular phone models can email me for a trial code, and users who just REALLY want to use the beta can purchase a BPE1 code.
  • So, you post your BETA software to VersionTracker where you provide no indication whatsoever that this BETA will only work for PAID version 1 users. If you only want current registered users to participate in your beta program, you should limit the distribution to your current users.

    TrackRecord 1.0b2 [30] (Mac OS X)

I like my RS200sd even more

I really like my Polar RS200sd. It makes running more fun, allows me to do a better job of focusing my training. I like my RS200sd even more now. TrackRecord is really simple. It allows you to transfer the work out data from your RS200sd watch to your computer. It requires no additional hardware. Download this application and copy data off your watch right now. It's simple, it works, it's free. 5 stars across the board. Nicely done. [alert admin]

    HoudahGPS 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Does not work with Magellan 210

I have a Magellan 210 and a PowerBook G4. HoudahGPS is not able to do anything with the track log files that come from the 210 nor is it able to connect to the 210 via USB. Points for stability, the app handled the failure gracefully. The price is right. Ease of use is severely hamper by an ugly and unintuitive UI and the complete absence of any help. However, if the software worked and the UI was intuitive, the lack of help would be a non-issue. Smittie [alert admin]

    LoadMyTracks 049 (Mac OS X)

    It Just Works

I have a Magellan 210 North America and a PowerBook G4. LoadMyTracks successfully translates the track log files quickly and easily. I have not had any success in getting LoadMyTracks (or any other software) to talk directly to the 210 but that is not functionality that I care about. Well done, guys. [alert admin]

Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 (Mac OS X)

    Addressbook

Thunderbird does not support the Mac OS X Addressbook. Addressbook is an integral component of the Mac OS that reaches beyond just mail. Until Thunderbird addresses this issue, either by incorporating the Mac OS X Addressbook, by taking over the other functions of the Mac OS X Addressbook or by cooperating with Addressbook in some fashion, Thunderbird will continue to be useless to a large number of Mac OS X users. Video2SWF 1.002 (Mac OS X)

    Reproducible Crash

I would like something like this. I'm going to end up learning how to use Flash largely to do what Video2SWF promises. I wish Video2SWF delivered on its promise. I've made two attempts at converting a 5 minute DV NTSC 48 kHz video to an swf. The application accepts the source movie and gives every indication that it can convert it. The progress bar plows along but before completion, the Video2SWF "quits unexpectedly". I using only presets, giving the software every advantage to succeed. Game over, thank you for playing. Back to learning the 30 day demo of Flash. Aloha [alert admin]

    Stapler 1.0 (Mac OS X)

    Kind of Cool...

At first glance I thought it was overly simplistic to the point of useless. After playing with it for a while I think it is pretty cool. The simplicity is actually one of the cool benefits of the application. You won't be doing your next org chart with this outliner but it is perfect for keeping random bits of information collected in a fashion that is easy to sort, catagorize and use. Nice. Boom Recorder 5.2 (Mac OS X)

    Kind of pricey?

I haven't tried Boom Recorder and I am not denigrating it in anyway. I'm simply asking a question. We are a small production house looking for an application to record backup sound as well as sounds for FX. I already have Garage Band which serves the purpose though I'd like something a little less encumbered. I'm not sure I want some thing $150 worth. Is it worth it? Aloha [alert admin]

    Pay for a Web Browser

I guess I don't get it. I understand that developers need to make money. However, when there are several good browsers available for free, why would anyone pay $30 for essentially the same thing? aloha [alert admin]

7 months old and not an improvment

Garmin claims to be Mac friendly. That's the maker I'll be checking out next. My TomTom Go 510 is looking for a new home.

Wow! That sucks. VersionTracker does not allow developers to control what shows up here and what doesn't? That's seriously messed up. Smittie (looking for something to replace VersionTracker)

    Magellan 210 support

Yeah. That's what I thought. There is FAR more to the HoudahGPS user interface than "one button". That was rather disingenuous.

    Magellan 210 support

LoadMyTracks is able to translate the file without a problem. I didn't look much beyond that. The interface is not intuitive because you cannot figure out how to accomplish the intended task with given controls. HoudahGPS only has one button but it took me 15 minutes to finally decide that HoudahGPS does not work with my device. And that was a guess. HoudahGPS interface provided no useful information. There's a lot more to user interface than…

Why to pay if 1001 is free

You get what you pay for, cowboy. I tried to make 1001 fit into my workflow. iPhoto is where I work with my photographs. Opening 1001 adds multiple steps but is only a one trick pony. FlickrExport incorporates export to Flickr into my existing workflow. And I work for a living so I don't have to go ask mommy for money to buy the tools I use. Posting ads for other products as reviews in VersionTracker…

    Addressbook

You, sir, do not understand how tightly integrated the Addressbook is in OSX. It is not a matter of exporting to Thunderbird. That is relatively easy. The issue is that the Addressbook database is available to and used by other applications under OSX. By using Thunderbird's address book, I forego this major feature of OSX. This makes Thunderbird a complete non-starter for me and many other OSX users.

Re: This is Linux, not Mac OS X

This distro does not run on Mac. It runs on Apple Hardware. Mac is an operating system. VersionTracker has categorized their software by OS. As such there is currently no appropriate place for Linux related releases. It amazes me that VersionTracker has not yet added a *nix category. aloha

This is an editor of the decade!

Yeah, so, I was looking for something to replace BBEdit and its tired interface. A friend pointed me to TextMate. I tried it for a day or two and was pretty impressed. So, I payed the shareware fee. After about a month of trying to integrate TextMate into my workflow I finally gave up and switched to TextWrangler. TextWrangler is a better editor. FTP That whole use TextMate with Transit thing is clunky and cumbersome. The FTP…

    Search problem

I have the same problem. This version is essentially worthless since it is not capable of checking the versions of installed applications. Every time I run this app I get indicators that I need to update something when in fact all versions indicated are already installed. Junk. aloha

    The price is

If you feel the price on this product is not right you a) don't have a need for this type of product, b) haven't looked at the product c) have unrealistic expectations about product pricing. Aloha
