Cyberduck 2.4.3 (Mac OS X)
How is the speed and reliability now?
In using previous versions of Cyberduck I noted that it seemed buggier and considerably slower than other apps, notably Fetch for FTP and Fugu for SFTP. Is the performance better now? Will probably try it to see, but any feedback on these counts would be welcome. [alert admin]

Zip-n-Go 3.09 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Easiest, cheapest zip/unzip software?
Considering this is $15, and you can get open source zip tools for FREE, I don't see how they can claim it's the cheapest.... [alert admin]

Timbuktu Pro 7.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I haven't used Timbuktu in some time now (a couple years) and wonder how it compares to, say, VNC, which I can use on my Mac and Windows machines, and secure with SSH. Any comments? [alert admin]

What, exactly, is a "worship team"? [alert admin]

Avant Browser 9.01.113 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
It still uses the IE engine, and isn't as secure as some other alternateives. Also, I don't personally care for the "tab-only" browsing model - I want both tabs AND windows. Best browser - Mozilla Firefox. The name changed again, but it is still the best browser out there. [alert admin]

Apple CHUD Tools 3.0.2 (Mac OS X)
It's all LIES, I tell you! LIES! CHUD stands for "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers" - I've seen the movie! Don't let them trick you! =D [alert admin]

JediName! 1.1 (Mac OS X)
The new Star Wars movies are so awful.... Killed any appeal something like this would have had for me. :P [alert admin]

Mozilla Firebird 0.7.1 (Mac OS X)
While the Mac version needs a little more work than the Win and Lin versions, it is still a great app. I use it for my daily browsing on all three platforms, and this update seems to be an improvement. There are still some rough edges, but in all this is a fantastic browser, and should only get better. [alert admin]

Apple QuickTime 6.4 (Mac OS X)
You can play MPEG2 on Mac OS X
But you can't do it with Quicktime unless you get the $20 MPEG2 update. You can, however, download VLC Player for free, and it will play MPEG2 fine. So will mplayer OS X. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
But I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread. On Windows I prefer MusicMatch Jukebox, while on Mac I end up using Quicktime Player more than anything else. Also, all these "Apple is so great" posts are really off-topic. You should be talking about the app, not whatever your platform preferences are. [alert admin]

Sorry to be flippant, but what part of (from the Kensington download page): Notes: This version supports all Kensington USB and ADB mice and trackballs except: • One-button mice • Turbo Mouse 1.0-4.0 (the older, 2-button models) • Orbit 3D • ValuMouse products do you not understand?

Sounds more like you have problems on your system, and/or your competency with Windows apps, then any real creditable feedback on FileZilla. Just out trolling and trying to dissuade people from using the fine free software available on the platform you apparently despise?

Get Photoshop instead? Oh, sure I got HUNDREDS of dollars just sitting around to get software. If you really want more powerful image editing at a more reasonable price Photoshop Elements is very good, but it will still run you $99 unless you get some kind of discount. I haven't tried this particular app, but I know that IrfanView for Windows and GraphicConverter for Mac are both decent, and the former is free while the latter…

If Apple had an IM client that was compatible with a Windows video conferencing app then I would agree with you. As it is you can't have voice chat with a Windows user without going to extreme lengths, since the most common IM clients that can do voice and video chat (Yahoo and Netmeeting) don't work on Mac. The Yahoo Messenger program will do video on Mac, but no audio. You can…

4.3 makes a good app even better. Well worth the price of registration - this is a steal, especially compared to the cumbersome and expensive nature of a lot of audio apps.

Netscape pretty much dead? Even NS 7.1 beats Opera, and the new Mozilla browsers jump all over it, particularly the already grat Firebird browser.

I very much agree - I really wish that they would identify adware as what it is, and not mislabel it as freeware. Some adware is really closer to spyware, and some is more malware than anything else. Stuff that hides and fights being uninstalled is certainly malware to my mind, and it sure isn't 'freeware.'

Why are you even looking at Windows apps, blueskymining? Are you getting paid to troll by Steve Jobs or is it just a hobby?

Since my last post I've tried additional firewalls (Outpost, Tiny, Sygate) and have always returned to ZoneAlarm as the best solution. It is solid, reliable, configurable, and effective. Regarding some of the posts referring to OS X, I just have to say: "Huh?" Oo ----
