Dramatist 1.5 (Mac OS X)
My nominee for "pointless software of the year"
Maybe that's being a little cold... It's just that there is NO purpose for this application. How this is supposed to help people write dialogue is beyond me. If you are looking for software that makes it harder to write dialogue this is your app. It's hurting my brain even trying to come up with some benefit for using this software! [alert admin]

BitTorrent 3.3 (Mac OS X)
3.3 does NOT work w/Panther BECAUSE...
... the file that is downloaded is NOT version 3.3. Check the version number. It's 3.2.2. The DMG says it's 3.3 -- but the actual app is 3.2.2. This is where the problems are coming from I think. What people think what they are downloading is not accurate. Now, I don't know if there is in fact an actual 3.3 floating around somewhere that works. But the 3.2.2 version that comes with the 3.3 download (and I've tried many of the mirrors) CRASHES in Panther. The solution for those having this problem is to download the 3.2.2a version as suggested by another poster below. It works pretty good. No crashes. Just a few hangs and hiccups. It doesn't work as good as 3.2.2 (again, the version that comes with the 3.3 download) does in Jaguar, but works well enough until a real 3.3 version, or the next update comes out. Hope this clears things up for people. Not sure why or where the actual 3.3 version can be found. Anyways, great app if you've got a working version! [alert admin]

Glad to see the add feature has been fixed so quickly
however, many other problems (noted already by others below) continue to hamper this app. My new biggest gripe (now that the adding bug has been fixed) is artwork isn't saved... this app will be fantastic when it gets finished, but right now it's too buggy to be of use. continued thanks for your hard work... DVD Cache .401 (Mac OS X)
I'm not one to usually complain about free software
but not being able to ADD titles to this app is sort of a major bug that should have been recognized and addressed before releasing this version. I appreciate the hard work you are doing -- god knows we are all waiting for somebody to get a dvd/movie list database right. One that let's us get informatio from IMDB, let's us add cover/poster art, and let's us search/sort like any good database should do. I'm not a programmer but know that the above is hard work, but please can we get something close to the above from somebody out there? This app shows great promise if it will let you add titles to it! :-) [alert admin]

DVD2OneX 1.1.0 (Mac OS X)
... perhaps they are charging more for the mac-version because they actually had to buy a mac and figure out how to program on it from scratch -- and managed to write code that did something the people programming on the mac for a lot longer than the few months haven't been able to do? Or maybe it has something to do with mac being only 3% or so of the market share... so naturally if you are making an investment for a product that won't be sold at as high a volume they charge slightly more? Whatever the reason, I gladly spent the 25% extra -- I rather spend $10 bucks more to get a product that will let me backup 15-20 dvds in the ammount of time it takes to do one using the other software out there. Are you related to Abbath perhaps? ;-) [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.0 (Mac OS X)
bothered with AAC before because converting to AAC took forever in comparison to MP3, but with iTunes 4 I swear it's now just as fast or faster than converting to MP3. I could always tell the difference in quality and now will take advantage of it. It takes only a minute or two to convert each CD from directly in iTunes... another example of fine Apple Software. Not sure if I will use the store or not, but it looks pretty sweet and easy to use. Excellent update! [alert admin]

DVD2OneX 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
nullify yet another childishly repetitive post from abbath -- you've made your point pal, now move on with your life, okay? The demo and the great reviews here gave me and everyone else who is currently enjoying this wonderful app more than enough evidence that this product was for real, why can't it for you? At this point I'm almost *hoping* a pirated serial number will find it's way into your hands soon so you can stop badmouthing this amazing piece of software *grow up* [alert admin]

DVD2OneX 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
perfect backups when doing movie-only. Barely noticiable loss of quality on full-dvd (menus, intros, extras, etc.) Does either of the above in just a tick over 20 minutes on my PB G4 1 ghz. Add in 15 minutes to rip first using 0SEx/DVD Backup, and 25 minutes to burn at 2x in toast = 1 hour to backup a DVD?? OMG people this app is unbelievable... quit yer complaining and BUY it. You people moaning about the demo only want this great piece of software for FREE... so you can use it to STEAL movies from your friends and local video store. If there was ever an app worth spending a little money on this is it. Whether you use it for legitimate or illegitimate reason you will be getting your money back in spades :-) [alert admin]

MacPAR deLuxe 2.3.2 (Mac OS X)
trouble with .rar files that stuffit expander often times chokes on. For this reason alone it's great software, but there are many other useful features as well :-) [alert admin]

DivX Gershwin 5.0b2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The issue is not that people want every app to be free. The problem we have is that there are already free alternatives that do the job better. Only a fool would pay for something inferior to what is available for free. Are you a fool? I gave this thing 2 stars because that's what I feel it's worth in comparison to the performance of the other apps out there. The fact that they want to charge you on top of this when the other apps are free isn't going to help the ratings any. Especially if it's a BETA... why should we pay for software that is inferior to free alternatives? Why should we pay for BETA software that is inferior to free alternatives? [alert admin]

This guy Abbath needs to get a life...
Seriously, dude... what is WRONG with you? Is your only happiness in life degrading this product? I'm sure you finally got your hands on a pirated serial number and are using this program without paying for it -- and you're STILL going to bash it?? Why is it that everyone else who uses this program gives it 5 stars and thinks it's fantastic. Oh.. that's right -- we're all fakes. LOL. GET. A. LIFE.
