I've been using this program for a number of years in our production environment to trim extraneous characters from files names before uploading them to an ftp site. As far as I can see it's still the only bulk renamer that supports grep, which allows multiple changes in a single pass. Combined with saved presets this program has saved countless hours of repetitive work! [alert admin]

MacProgramGuide 0.62 (Mac OS X)
If you're unwilling (like me) to pay for the schedules direct listing service, before downloading MacProgramGuide you should know that the listing service, after the 7 day free trial, costs $5 for 2 months, $20 for a year. Sadly, this software went right into my trash... [alert admin]

Squid 1.0 (Mac OS X)
very neat application, a nice distraction :) my suggestions, as everyone seems to have one, would be an option to start on an alternate screen. [alert admin]

TiVo Decoder 1.3 (Mac OS X)
I also have had reasonable success with this application - thanks so much for creating it! One problem I've encountered: one of my downloads appeared to never end, with the resulting file twice the size they should be, but it still played in VLC. This only happened once, subsequent downloads have worked fine. Can anyone suggest a tool to convert the MPEG-2 files to any other format? I was duped into buying Apple's MPEG-2 codec from the Apple Store, but like another comment says, only the first frame plays and then the video freezes. I'd love to find a way to convert these into a form that my Philips DVD/Data player could handle. [alert admin]

Renamer4Mac 2.5 (Mac OS X)
Just downloaded this to help in a server move, installed it quickly and simplified a huge rename nightmare. Simple and powerful, I'm impressed. [alert admin]

MacSQL 2.1.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
has become very unstable with SQL Server, frequently losing track of objects (ie tables) in the database. I opened a problem with their support, who at first seemed interested, but when they couldn't recreate my problem they decided that I wasn't worth bothering with, and now won't return my repeated (and polite) calls. Take it for what you want, the concept is great, but someone else needs to develop something that works, then support the people who are willing to pay for it. [alert admin]

I've also had audio synch problems, and some dropped connections for various size files. I see that Intel Macs are getting the update for audio synch - I hope that will be available to the rest of us soon :) Great product otherwise, amazing that you can get this to us while Tivo can't...
