Mozilla Firefox 1.0PR 0.10 (Mac OS X)
Still has some critical issues supporting valid CSS (style sheets). But it's getting better. Really a very nice browser. Definitely a good alternative to IE, almost as tight as Safari. [alert admin]

Lasso Professional 7.0.6 (Mac OS X)
Easy update, no problems whatsoever. I'm continually impressed with the quality of the Lasso server. Well worth the purchase price when compared, apples to apples, with php (yes PHP), cold fusion or asp. Try it, you'll never go back. Takes half the time to code as other languages. Works on linux, mac os x, mac os x server, and windows. [alert admin]

I ran into the same problem. The 3200 works with USB on Panther, but not with Firewire. It's not especially slow using USB or anything but this bugs me because I've got an open firewire port and have to unplug my printer to use it with USB. What gives? Anyone found a fix, patch, workaround?
This scanner is an awesome deal for the money. A friend convinced me to buy it when he compared results form his Nikon Coolscan 8000 with the Epson 3200 Photo using the same chrome, and wow, there's hardly a difference at all. Add a little unsharp mask to the 3200 image and there's no visual difference between the two files. Excellent image quality. .

Nikon Scan X 3.1.4 (Mac OS X)
business for not supporting the ls2000 on os x. It just can't be that hard to do. There are a lot of ls2000 scanners out there still going strong. Now I'm forced to upgrade? Their reputation is built on backwards compatibility in their optics. Why not in their scanners as well?!? I've been shooting with Nikon for 10 years and I won't buy another nikon product with knowlege that they will stop supporting it long before the product stops working. [alert admin]

Lasso Professional 6.0.1 (Mac OS X)
really quite solid. If you haven't tried it (especially lately) don't knock it. Yeah $1199 is steep, but it is tough to get as complete a deployment (database + server + cross platform compatibility) package or find an extremely well documented development language for the same price. And all without the headaches. It's easy to use, fast, and CAN handle seriousl loads. Try it. Minus 1 star for the high price. [alert admin]
