Synergy 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Pretty uncool move sneaking this in as a paid upgrade and uninstalling the older version. [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Lagginess has gone, contacts are fast, 3G is more reliable and my batter looks like it might last more than 5 or 6 hrs. [alert admin]

Harmony Remote 7.3.0 (Mac OS X)
I've had an 880 for over a year with a very complex home theatre setup and it works BRILLIANTLY. I have tried nearly ever remote in the >$500 range and this one tops them all in all regards. Yes the Mac software has been a little clunky but this new version seems to work well. It now correctly sizes the window which was a big annoyance in the older version. Now if only they would stop dumping their cache at the root of the users home directory. [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2007 16.0 (Mac OS X)
I have been a Quicken user for 10+ years. Every year I hope an expect to get a new version that is even modestly close to the Windows feature set. Every year I and the rest of the Mac community are continually disappointed, dare I say pissed. I saw this quote on their site "Quicken® Mac 2007 now delivers all the most important features and benefits of Quicken Deluxe 2007 for Windows" All I can say is WTF are they smoking. They wont see a cent of my money until they give us a product that significantly closes the gap with their windows feature set. F them!! [alert admin]

CoverTunes 0.3 (Mac OS X)
This is a very poor but obvious rip-off of a much better product called CoverFlow. [alert admin]

You need to quit the menu item before you can throw the app away. Very easy to do, just click the icon in the menu bar and at the bottom of the menu select Quit. You can then trash the app, and then launch the new version.

thanks Gary I am aware of the global menu pref but in the .9 versions it doesn't work as expected. I notified the developer and he said it was a known issue and will be fixed in the 1.0 release :-)
