ffmpegX 0.0.9t (Mac OS X)
Just to add to the positive feedback. This application is an extremely useful addition to a video conversion toolkit. The developer is quick to respond to emails. Well worth paying the registration to support and motivate development. [alert admin]

books2burn 0.094 (Mac OS X)
An excellent application for creating spoken files and for breaking them up into manageable chunks. Works with Cepstral voices. (Still need to create the mp3s from the aiff files it produces via iTunes). [alert admin]

eFax Messenger 3.1.10 (Mac OS X)
eFax Free is free (and the system is reliable) but if the number of inbound fax pages exceed the monthly limit (read their fine print) your account will be terminated with immediate effect. You'll get a rather blunt email telling you so, inviting you to apply for a pay-for account. The email wording could have been more polite but the tone was enough for me to abandon it for a lower cost but effective alternative (maxemail) since my fax traffic volume doesn't warrant the cost of the full eFax pay-for service. MP3 Rage 5.8.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
This program does exactly what I want - tagging mp3s in bulk and individually. The change tag value problem that I encountered earlier is now cured with 5.8.4. The developer _is_ responsive to email. 5 Stars - nothing less - from me. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.4 (Mac OS X)
Upgraded today to 10.3.4 from 10.3.3 on my TiBook. No obvious difference in performance nor new problems. Nothing broken that wasn't already broken. My USB Apacer Handy Steno 256mb (bought from Apple Store some time ago) which worked perfectly in 10.3.2 but didn't work in 10.3.3 (freeze on large file transfers with 'trying to queue to a stalled pipe' reported in system.log) sadly still doesn't work in 10.3.4 - same symptoms. [Usual hygiene precautions taken in upgrade - repaired permissions and ran DW before and after - and followed advice for USB in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107914 ]. Hope this report is informative to suffering Apacer USB owners who were looking towards 10.3.4 as a cure. [alert admin]

InforMac 0.03b2 (Mac OS X)
I groan every time I use Apple System Profiler as it takes ages to display everything.... This seems far faster. Really nice display of information too. Apple should employ this guy. [alert admin]

Steam 1.4 (Mac OS X)
An excellent application. Extra stars for the ability to startup and switch to any of the Beeb radio stations with a double click on the mouse. [alert admin]

Word Translator 4.9.8 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
WT for several years now under OS 9 and needed to move it to OS X. Halldor the developer was very responsive to my problem about registering it under OS X. Now working well (10.2.5). Great. [alert admin]

script that does exactly what it claims to do. Documentation is fairly clear enough and although a little preparation is required to use it the application is an neat low cost solution to daily back ups of my home folder. Many thanks. [alert admin]

I too am a registered Toast 6 user and received the promo offer of a large discount via mail-in-rebate a couple of weeks before official release. Very deceptive if you live outside the USA - after digging through the Roxio website I came to the conclusion it only applied to registered users in the USA.

Also true here - Can't download from VT - You don't have permission to down load (from the FTP site pointed to by Versiontracker). I'm running 10.3.8
