TextSoap 5.0 (Mac OS X)
I shoulda known that downloads would be slowed when TextSoap 5.0 first hit the servers ... and the registrations would be slow, too. I was a little too fast to react badly when I had difficulty registering. Well, everything is jake now, and TextSoap 5.0 is working perfectly. I was very happy with previous version - I'm quite happy with *this* version. Thanks for a great app. [alert admin]

TextSoap 5.0 (Mac OS X)
TextSoap 5.0 has now cratered twice as I tried to register an upgrade from 4.5.1. I entered my name and serial number, clicked on the upgrade button ... and down it went. I'm sure it's a temporary problem ... but sheesh! [alert admin]

Skype 1.4.0.35 (Mac OS X)
Update - 1.4.0.35 available again
They've made 1.4.0.35 available again. I downloaded it — and it once again works like a champ. [alert admin]

The fact that this version craters on start-up really, REALLY sucks. And with no back-up of the previous version to relaunch, I'm a paid customer who's paid for something I can't use — AT ALL!!!!! I cannot recommend THIS version. Effing fix it NOW!!!! [alert admin]

DiskWarrior 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I love this app. It does what it's supposed to do, does it quickly and leaves my drive rock solid. Yes, there were some problems between 3.0 and 3.03, but as notices here from Alsoft make plain, they addressed the problems in a timely manner. Sure, they didn't have the answers yesterday (who does?), but they fixed 'em. Also, I switched to DiskWarrior because of the dithering by the people at Micromat. First, Drive 10 was going to be their OS X app (or so I was led to believe), so I bought it, and discovered that it had what seemed to me to be a limited feature set. Then, there were rumblings that Tech Tool was going to be updated, but no one at Micromat could/would give me a straight answer about which product was going to be *the* OS X repair app, or if Tech Tool was scheduled to be brought to OS X. As a consequence, I had paid for a full version of Drive 10, which was limited, and then later could also update (for more money, of course) Tech Tool - a circumstance that *still* angers me. And it was the same sort of dithering by Norton about Mac-oriented development and support that drove me to Micromat in the first place. Soooooooo ... all hail DiskWarrior - the industrial strength repair tool of the moment - and here's hoping *they* don't start dithering. [alert admin]

You know how they say patience is a virtue ... and that the third time's the charm? I tried one more time after posting my comment ... and it downloaded ... and accepted my serial number. So I'm all set. Thanks for a GREAT app ... and *I* don't mind the upgrade price a bit.

I must say - I'm impressed as hell at the customer service response to this complaint. While there was a misunderstanding, I'm not going to side with one side or the other in the dispute. But it *does* seem that Endecia has made a serious effort to explain themselves and make nice.

Call me a cynic. but I can't help but wonder if this glowing review was written by a LimeWire employee.

Take heart - you're not alone. I downloaded the new version, installed it — and it won't even start up. I haven't cleared the prefs, but based on your experience, it won't help me. I'm running a G5 with duals 2s and OS X.4.6.

Okay, here's what my problem was (a problem I haven't had with Adium): crashes or freezes that occurred at random. At the time the freezes or crashes occurred, I had few, if any other apps running. I know this information won't helpsmoothing out Fire's operation, but there you are. THAT is what my problem was.

I hate to disappoint you, but I am *not* a young man (I'm 53), and I have no trouble, as you so elegantly phrase it, "holding my load." And as far as "the problem" being a local one? Sorry, pal, but Fire has been the only such multi-chat app with which I had so much trouble. I run diagnostic and repair apps once a week, and no app — and I *do* mean NO app I've used…

Okay, the widget has "showed up" in my Dashboard since I last posted — but it wasn't there immediately after installation.
