MacDaddyX 0.2.21 (Mac OS X)

I don't like it, at least not yet

I'm comparing MacDaddyX to ChangeMAC. I prefer ChangeMAC, it's simpler and gives it the K.I.S.S. Compared to ChangeMAC, MacDaddyX looks cooller, works not as much (about 65% of the time), has a more extensive list of OIDs (although I have no use for this), and a nice log thingy (which i also don't use). MacDaddyX is a throbbing pain in my donkey, at least for now. You can't use the edit menu at all (lame!). I want to change the MAC on my airport card (en1), but it ALWAYS switches back to ethernet (en0) after i do anything!!! plus it fails to change the MAC too much, which in combination with the last complaint means that when I go to press the change button after a failed attempt, it's now changing my ethernet's MAC address. this means i have to take a bunch of steps to find the hardware id of the en0 and switch it back, and then try again with the en1 MAC. guess how many times I'm trying to pass out and need to get this done but I end up in this hellish loop!!!! AAAAHHHH. I need software to do one thing here, and of course the more easily and consistently the better. I don't think folks who'd change their MAC addresses would really care about the looks. Maybe when it works I'll like it. [alert admin]

ChangeMAC 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Works great for me. Surprised at these other comments

I'm on a MacBook 2.16 GHz running 10.4.11, and it works great for me. maybe you just need to try it a couple times when it fails. like any old NES gamer, keep pushing the button. This program gives it the K.I.S.S. I like that. and it works. and it isn't a source of headaches. I reccomend it. Suggestions to Developer: It could benefit from a memory of previous MACs I've used I like that in MacDaddyX I don't have to type the colons, but that's all I like about that app. Caveat: I launched another app MacPilot only once and after that ChangeMAC does not work in my user. there's no GUI However, it works fine in another user so this has probably got nothing to do with ChangeMAC. I'm gonna go bash MacPilot right now. P.S. The developer, Gerard Briscoe, is an awesome guy. Despite the fact that MacPilot caused the problem and this isn't his responsibility, he has sent me 6 emails to support this problem, and has even gone beyond the support I've gotten from AppleCare. All this on top of his thesis! What a nice guy! [alert admin]
