Apple Java for OS X 10.5 Update 1 1.6.0_05 (Mac OS X)

64 bit CPU only

This update is only good for 64 bit capable Intel Macs. Gosh! [alert admin]

StockXloader 3.4 (Mac OS X)

Works under 10.5

Great support. Works under 10.5.1 now and I can now upgrade my main Mac to Leopard. :) [alert admin]

StockXloader 3.3.4 (Mac OS X)

Just works

Stumbled on this AppleScript based program after finding ProTA for technical analysis. This worked really well in combo with ProTA for my level of need. Although individual stock entry process by manual entry in both StockXloader and ProTA is somewhat tedious, but it's well worth the routine given the data feed is free, and covers more international data than some paid subscription service. I highly recommend this program and ProTA if your technical analysis need goes no finer than 20mins delayed daily time scale. One word of warning though. The current 3.3.4 version is incompatible with Mac OS X 10.5 as noted by the author. An updated version will be introduced at some point in the future. Fingers crossed and maybe some urging would help this process along. [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.1.0 (Mac OS X)

My favourite BT app

After going through the loops of Tomato Torrent, Bit on Wheel, Azureus, I am back on Bittorrent, the original. The nice balance of essential features and a small foot print is just what I needed. Azureus may be nice but I really don't need those fancy features nor interested in configuring all those settings. This just gets the job done efficiently. [alert admin]

Deneba Canvas

What's the relationship b/n this Canvas X and Deneba's long running Canvas program? Confused. [alert admin]

RSS Menu 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Still a CPU hog

After using 1.1 for nearly a day, and I'll have to sadly report that its CPU problem is still not fixed. Just in the last hour or so, it's been running continuously at around 45-55% of my CPU cycle. What's going on? It was fine earlier in the day. [alert admin]

RSS Menu 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

CPU usage

Great program but, it's 20-25% CPU usage under the present version is not acceptable. Waiting for the author to better optimize the program. [alert admin]

Retrospective 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Excellent but... no Unicode

Really helped me on a number of occasions where I needed to find that web page I previously browsed. However, it does not appear to support Unicode and won't display double byte language properly. [alert admin]

Cyberduck 2.4b1 (Mac OS X)

Account info in Bookmark list

Setup two bookmarks of different FTP servers. However, each time I change the user ID of one, the other bookmarked account would also change, effectively forcing all accounts to have the same user ID. This has got to be a bug... [alert admin]

Apple iCal 2.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Check your 3rd party apps

Earlier poster's comment and trashing was most likely related to his/her installation of some third party app that uses iCal/database. I note that MenuCalendarClock caused the installer to respond in such a way. Quitting MCC sorted everything out. Obviously, the 1 star rating by the earlier poster is probably most inappropriate. nice update!

How can the HD temp drop through a firmware update? Doesn't make sense unless the fan starts to run more frequently. I am not hearing that.

What's new?

Terrible! Can't stand that new floating window. Please go back to the original arrangement or at least have a comparable interface option.

unix command "who"

Agree. I was thinking the author has made some breakthrough than what the "who" command has been able to provide. Oh well, there's really no magic here.

Works for Simplified Chinese

Funny, I gave documentation 3 stars but in the final layout, it's for support. I would have given 5 stars for support. Clearly it's an error in the VersionTracker. My apology to the author on this.

Really works

Me again. But it would appear that the missing graphics issue is now fixed. I deleted all the Avantgo cache and data on my Palm and resynced, everything's presenting normally now. And it's still just as fast. Love it!

Why isn't this available via Software Update?

Could it be that this software version is part of 10.3.3 updater package that is due to be released very very soon. It just saves everybody an extra download and reboot by not showing up in Software Update.

Should have ten stars!

"I downloaded it this morning and used it to fix an OS X volume that was royally screwed up. It fixed in three minutes what used to take two to three hours with DW 2. This one is a real winner!". JBMelby, really? How did you reproduce identical screw ups repeatedly? Did you learn to avoid these screw ups?
