Monolingual 1.4.1 (Mac OS X)
I've used Monolingual for ages and up until recently it has worked very well. However, with Snow Leopard it often hung and then crashed. I tried uninstalling all the non-Intel architectures on my Mac Pro using this and managed to cripple Snow Leopard, forcing a re-install. Do not uninstall architectures with this utility as it does not work properly. I got to the stage where I decided to simply get rid of Monolingual. Disk space is now so cheap that trying to slim your system is fraught with danger and for the most part, pointless. [alert admin]

Keyboard drivers not usable with 64 bit apps
Despite claiming to be compatible with 64 bit Snow Leopard, it is not possible to use the Logitech keyboard drivers with 64 bit apps. When using an application like Safari, the Logitech keyboard driver becomes greyed out and the selection reverts back to one of the Apple ones. It's a shame that Logitech software continues to let down their hardware. [alert admin]

Does Not Install on Snow Leopard
I just tried to install this on a fresh installation of Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, the software checks the OS version on installation and does not recognise Mac OS X 10.6. [alert admin]

Or Use K9 Web Protection For Free
I've no idea why anyone would pay for this now that you can get Blue Coat Systems' excellent K9 Web Protection ( http://www1.k9webprotection.com ) absolutely free. I am not affiliated with Blue Coat Systems other than being a very happy user of their product. Mackey's comment about OpenDNS is true (I use it myself). It is a great resource, but a lot of adult sites still slip through the net. If you use that in combination with K9 then very little will slip through, and that which does can be reported easily and is acted upon promptly. [alert admin]

SuperNZB 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Unison by Panic for all my newsgroup needs. NZB files are supported. And it's only $25. Why should people use SuperNZB instead of Unison? [alert admin]

Your experience may differ from mine. If people want to try recovering some disk space at the risk of screwing up their entire system, then feel free. By "local issue", I presume you are blaming me for Monolingual trashing a fresh installation of Snow Leopard just because it didn't trash your system. From your "I'm alright, Jack" attitude, I presume you do not believe that others should be made aware of the possibility of…

It sounds like you would be better off with DEVONthink. I use both OmniOutliner Pro and DEVONthink Pro and believe DEVONthink to be better suited to your needs.

Why are you posting this (and other off-topic comments) here? Haven't you got a blog you can put these comments on? I doubt very much that Steve Jobs or Bill Gates surf VersionTracker, let alone come here to get FireFox for Mac.

If you want to create a clone of a drive or smart update an existing copy then I really recommend you check out SuperDuper. I ponied up for a licence a while back and have not regretted it.

Flip4Mac Seems to be the problem!
Well, it looks like I have falsely accused VLC and 10.4.4. On a hunch I just removed Flip4Mac and guess what? VLC works again.

Now that you mention it I have had Safari and Mail crash a bit more frequently and a couple of other apps (iTunes-LAME just crashed). It's not all the time as I am experiencing with VLC, but only now and again. I have found that MPlayer is a more stable player at the moment but more of a resource hog. I think I shall start submitting every crash report to Apple in the hope that it…

Couldn't have looked very hard
You couldn't have looked very hard "for years" as you seem to have completely missed RapidWeaver by Realmac Software which is streets ahead of SandVox.

Default Browser Setting in Safari
If you want to make Camino (or any other browser) the default then take a look at Safari's preferences. You'll find the setting you want under the General tab. Yes, I do agree that this is a totally stupid place for it reside. Apple, it's a global setting, not an application specific one!
