Volume Logic 1.3.2 (Mac OS X)
I've been a beta tester for VolumeLogic ever since it's debut by Octiv. I doubt it will become open source, as they have other commercial products that use the DSP. I reinstalled but cannot get it to work in Leopard 10.5. The sound shaping was nice, but I mostly used it to keep my iTunes volume levels consistent. As an alternative, I just purchased Audio Hijack Pro and enabled the AUPeakLimiter from Apple in the Effects chain. By increasing the IN Gain and reducing the OUT Gain, it does a reasonable job of limiting volume surges in iTunes. You can leave it this way to sort of replace VolumeLogic. [alert admin]

My G4 died and after moving to my G5, I wrote this developer several times asking for my license, but he refuses to respond. apparently expecting me to now pay $10 for a new license. Very bad policy. Boycott this product. [alert admin]

Much better than Apple's H.264 encoder 
I concur! Sharp as a tack, half the file size, and more than half the data rate of H.264. Amazing!

Problems continue, at least on Power PC: o Updater says "Intel Only" even though it works on PowerPC. o Software Updater in KL is not automatic. I always have to initiate manually. o Having to manually remove the JPDM codecs prior to upgrading is a hassle. o Still no JPDM codec available under "Video" when using the "MPEG-4" file format per the instructions. Manual claims this is an available option. o Switching KL to "video" from "photo" sometimes displays digital…
