iVolume 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Disappointing upgrade

I've been using iVolume religiously since version 1. I was excited to see this new version, but have mixed feelings about it after having used it. Pros: faster than earlier versions, manual access to all volume settings Cons: clunky interface, not enough sorting options, no simple way of changing sound for just a few tracks. I like how the previous versions of iVolume only showed and adjusted the tracks you had selected in iTunes. Now iVolume loads my entire library every time I launch it, and I have to make custom groups to narrow things down. I still can't figure out how to adjust a few selected songs - it keeps trying to adjust my entire library every time I hit "go". Hopefully the author is following these comments and will add some of the lost functionality back in. [alert admin]

TiVo Desktop 1.5 (Mac OS X)

So what IS new in this version?

The continued lack of AAC support really hinders the Home Media Option. [alert admin]

PhotoInfo 1.04 (Mac OS X)

similar problem with file date modification

Like the user below, all I want to do is use the exif capture date to set the Finder "created on" date for a bunch of files. I can do this one at a time with PhotoInfo, but not in batch mode. The option to modify finder file dates should be an option in the main interface, not a preference. [alert admin]

Poisoned 0.492 (Mac OS X)

Should be better

It's great that Poisoned accesses so many different P2P networks, but I still find that I don't get nearly the same amount of search results that I do with Acquisition or Limewire, which are Gnutella only. Also, the giftd is a serious CPU hog and the "realm" filter doesn't seem to have any effect; for example, you can't filter out mp3's if you're just looking for software. [alert admin]

GetArtwork 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Works occasionaly.

works about 1 out of every 5 times I try it. Usually it just goes to the correct album page in Safari and just sits there. I have to quit Safari to end the script. Would be nice if you could tell it to use another browser, as it seems like the problem may be at least in part with Safari. [alert admin]

SuperPNG 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Great plugin! My…

only complaint is that everytime you save a change to a PNG file in Photoshop it acts like a "Save As". Dealing with the dialog boxes can get tedious. [alert admin]
