AutomountMaker 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Works perfectly in Tiger and Leopard. My only confusion is that the "Save" button is labeled "Apply Now". [alert admin]

Fetch 5.0.4 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Fetch for a long time, registered in 2001 when it became shareware. Recently I've been trying out some of the other FTP apps for Mac OS X but today I discovered a feature in Fetch that was JUST what I needed; I paid for the upgrade to v. 5 immediately. I wanted an FTP client that would let me do backups to an FTP server. Fetch does this! (It's called "mirroring"). Oh so cool. Now I can keep my website up to date on the server AND backed up on my desktop. I've also recently found a cool client-side weblog app called Tangelo. Tangelo supports FTP but not (as yet) SFTP. Adding Fetch to the mix my Tangelo weblog is seamlessly synched to the SFTP server - only the changed files are uploaded. Way cool! [alert admin]

Note Studio 3.0 (Mac OS X)
I tried. Id purchased. It was that fast.
(where did my other feedback go? Trying again) I first discovered Note Studio at Palm Gear. t looked intriguing but... windows desktop app :-( I've been keeping an eye on it however and I have to commend the developers. Yes! Note Studio 3.0 now has a desktop app for Mac OS X! With a Palm OS companion app and a conduit! Yes! Mac users: try this. It's terrific. I can stop using all the myriad little applications I keep notes in on my Palm-based handheld and use just one - Note Studio. It even supports Font Bucket under Palm OS (I'm a font nut) Try it. Don't let the word "wiki" scare you. Note Studio is powerful and easy and fun! [alert admin]

This product is excellent - featureful and easy to use. The developer is very responsive. I no longer create blog entries in the web-based editor of my weblog engine. I ony use ecto. Oh, and it doesn't "Phone home" except to find out if you're running the latest version. nice review (not by me) here: http://allforces.com/2005/04/27/abetterwaytoblog/ [alert admin]

It's true that the documentation is extremely sparse. There are also a few "gotchas" in the program (which can be readily worked around) 1) The receiver needs to have a way to decrypt the text. Both users need to use the same password. This should be obvious and is fairly typical but ought to be spelled out in the (nonexistent) README file 2) you do NOT have to restart in order to usde this service!! Quit the installer from the dock menu, then log out at your convenience. The logout will ensure that the services menu is updated. Repeate: Restarting is NOT required (and for the installer to claim so is rude :-( 3) Note that the decrypted text will appear in another window (text isn't decrypted in place). Y9u can neither save from that Window nor copy the text (bad interface). However, you can drag the text (which is pre-selected) either as a text clipping or into a TextEdit or email window. So you can save it. While I am not really happy about the problems mentioned above, at least there _are_ workarounds, the price is good, and I want something in the Services menu. I don't want to deal with AppleScript. So, I've paid and I will recommend SS with caveats. Note to the developer - please fix these problems so the workarounds are no longer necessary and your app will be mmore useful. [alert admin]

The scrollbar makes this a perfect little app for tracking books, videos, all sorts of little lists of things over time. [alert admin]

You may have the proboem I have. Do you have subscribed calendars? I would love to use BitPal but it hangs, or seems to, on importing my calendars. I blame this on the fact that I subscribe to US Holidays and a Moon phases calendar. These go out to infinity (or almost). When BitPal has the ability to ignore specified calendars, I hope to try it again

the menu item is an option; this is not a menu extra. "hideously" overpriced is an opinion (it's $25. "Hideous" in my book is $50+) If you don't like the price, find another app. The developers are actually qutie responsive and their contact info is prominently displayed.

The bad news is it's actuallky $50. :-( The good nes is, that's for two copies, not one. So it's really $25 per copy.
