Alsoft MasterJuggler 3.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Hey ALSOFT, WILL this version work in TIGER?
The previous version just did not work in TIGER. So Alsoft told me to do a terminal edit. What the? You guys wrote the programme so get it right. Sure hope this version works. I have ALL the other ALSOFT products ( going back into OS 7.5 ) and their programmes are fantistic. Except MasterJuggler in OS X TIGER. I still recommend this product. [alert admin]

XPostFacto 4.0b5 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I just can't believe how simple a process of installing PANTHER on a 8500 and a 9600 was to do. Less the a couple of hours. I must admit the first time I ran the programme I had one major heart attack when my screen filed up with Dosy type. In fact I say holy batman I'm going straight to.... After the installation I paid me monies for the shareware. Those guys that work on this haxie should be given a gold medal. It has restored a couple of reliable macs and given me the ability to work in OS X. Although it would be nice to have one of those square pants G5. Maybe in a couple of years when the price drops down to the price of a mini-me mac. [alert admin]

DiscBlaze 5.1.4 (Mac OS X)
This programme should warn the user with some kind of pop up "warning! warning! warning!" when you go into, for example, multi-session burning that it will not work unless you paid the shareware fee. Actually $30US is not that bad. The author has a right to charge for those "extra" features but give the user a heads up when starting up the programme what will not work. Or on the other hand allow the "try" those features at least 5 times before you buy. I am still recommending DiscBlaze because the programmer is updating the programme nearly every week. {What's that all about! } [alert admin]

MOTU Digital Performer 4.6 (Mac OS X)
Can DigitalPerformer get any better? Yes, there is still room for improvement!
I've been using all of MOTU's software for years and years. DigitalPerformer has many excellent features albeit it lacks some significant improvements. ( take a look at Cubase SX3 MOTU ) This programme can do MASS, AU and VST. ( try that LOGIC ) An excellant programme for scoring to video. The price is right and MOTU has an excellent "upgrading" policy not like YAMAHA/APPLE LOGIC. However if you are just hobby computer music user then this programme may be to expensive. ( try Metro SE 6 ) I recommend DigitalPerformer. [alert admin]

Without reading the manual/www instructions I spent less then a couple of hours to install PANTHER on a 8500 and 9600. Being a typical mac guy I just launched the application and off we went installing PANTHER. And yes it's still a "try before you buys". So why pay after? For me there were some "issues" that required clarification and help. Remember I can't be bothered to read instructions. For me it's easier to ask. Once you've paid the fee required you get excellent "forum" support. The guru's at the forum have the patience and treat each question with respect and promptly provide the answers. [alert admin]

Perhaps the word haxie may be incorrect. However an application that can hax a system is just that, a haxie. Is that not what those Unsanity guys do with their haxies. Last time I looked they call them haxies. I usually associate the word application with programmes such as web browsers or word processors or midi/audio sequencers and so on and so on. The transport dock does hack the system by allowing a user to change the…

That's the world of software and hardware: just a deep dark hole. One feeds the other: the hardware demands better and better software because most of the time sequencing software plays catchup. If computer music is just a hobby and your happy with what you got then stick with that version.
