CUPS-PDF 2.4.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Nothing happened!!

This app needs to come with some sort of user manual. I installed it (twice), but after install it was nowhere to be found on my computer. Tried printing something as PDF and all the same old options were there but no new ones. As far as I can tell, this software doesn't really exist. Any other options? I have a really long PDF file I need to generate, & Apple's built-in option will not do it. [alert admin]

Gutenprint 5.1.3 (Mac OS X)

Solved my (very) long-standing problem!

I have an Epson Photo R200, which the Epson company stopped updating & supporting quite some time ago. (at least, for the Mac). I've been seeing a decline in printer performance for several months, such as the print-direct-to-CD feature no longer working, and most recently, the printer freezing in the middle of a print job. I downloaded all the most recent Epson drivers, and nothing helped. Finally, the print utility stopped working altogether. Gutenprint appears to have completely solved my issue. Documents now print normally. Maybe not an ideal solution, but it will work until I can buy a more updated (non-Epson) printer! [alert admin]

It does work. Here is how: Open the WordSmith.dmg.gz file and you should then be able to open the WordSmith.dmg file. Once the WordSmith.dmg is mounted you can see the WordSmith.mpkg file on your desktop. Instead of double clicking this, you can work aroud the problem by using Show Package Contents from the context menu on the WordSmith.mpkg file, (try right click or ctrl-click) then you should be able to see the .pkg files, and install them manually by…
