Yahoo! Messenger 3.0b1r4 (Mac OS X)

Agree w/the other reviews

The scrolling is just plain annoying. I've also found that if there is *any* other network activity (mail checking, downloads and the like), it continually crashes. What the hell? I'd probably use Fire but I like certain aesthetic features with Yahoo! Messenger that Fire just doesn't have. [alert admin]

Chroma player 2007.2 (Mac OS X)

flawless

Chroma is by far the best video file player I've come across, and I've used them all. It automatically detected the subtitle file and now I can watch all of my foreign films without the crash of VLC (which seems to crash every time I use it anyway, subtitles or not!!). [alert admin]

Acquisition 132.1 (Mac OS X)

too many updates!

It seems like Acquisition has some sort of update every week, and in all honesty, I believe that each update is only a slight modification to the app to prevent it from being cracked, and not an actual "upgrade". It's as bad as all of the XP patches that were being flung around a few years ago. [alert admin]

FTP Thingy 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)

hands down the best

I haven't had any problems running Thingy. Infact, it's been faster and so much lighter than both Fetch and Transmit. So far as freeware goes, it's tops. [alert admin]
