not ready for prime time

I keep downloading and checking versions of this app in the hopes that it will reach something near its potential. Previous versions where buggy or lacking key features. This one started up and immediately asked for money, which I actually took as a good sign - figuring that meant that they were finally out of beta. I clicked Demo and the app is insisting that my login is invalid, even though it's the same as the username and password that I use many times a day. That kind of renders the entire application pretty much pointless for now. Back in the trash and we'll see if the next version is any better. [alert admin]

Curio 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Nice but Expensive

Clever software. Would like to use it. What's up with the annoyingly high price? I guess they're stuck now. They can't drop the price without cheesing off their existing customers. What a shame. Maybe someone can suggest that they sell the company to Omni and cut their losses? [alert admin]

Delicious Library 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Very happy with Library

I tried a huge number of other CD and DVD cataloguing apps and even paid and registered for one of them. But none of them were as consistently impressive as Library. There are areas for improvement, but the overall usability and utility of Library is way way better than any of the other apps I tried. For someone with a serious collection, the effect of being able to enter an entire shelf of CDs by simply spending five minutes holding them up in front of my iSight one by one is intoxicating. The interface shows attention to detail and the simplicity and usability is reminiscent of Apple's iApps. As with all apps, this may not be an app that meets your individual needs or preferences, but it is without a doubt a very fine piece of software. Highly recommended. [alert admin]
