HamachiX 1C3 (Mac OS X)

HamachiX

Great front end to the Hamachi network tool. This program has saved me time and effort many times over. Of course you can use Hamachi on the command line, but why when you have HamachiX? I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs peer to peer connectivity for small networks. [alert admin]

MySync 0.78b (Mac OS X)

Problem unresolved

The last iteration of MySync has broken iCal. Now iCal will lose the calendars and they won't reappear until I quit iCal and restart. I have emailed the developer over a month ago and have not received a reply. It is beta software but I would not recommend it. Shame too, because it showed such promise. [alert admin]

Needs work

There are several bugs. One of which you cannot enter a trade date (year portion). Has potential though. [alert admin]

NewsHunter3 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Not worth it

I'm sorry but $60 bucks for shareware? Completely uncalled for. This newsreader simple does not have the bang for the buck they want. [alert admin]

KidsGoGoGo X 8.2 (Mac OS X)

Give them a break

All I hear is whining from different posters about how much they don't like this product. YOU ARE WRONG! I have used this product for my two sons, ages 9 and 11 and it works. It defintely is not fancy and if you don't read the install instructions you can screw yourself up. Can the developer improve the product by writing better instructions - defintely. But give him the benefit of the doubt. Whenever I had a problem and emailed him, he responded usually within 12-24 hours. Give the product a try. For what it does and its cost it is worth it. PowerMail 4.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Be careful!

I am unable to complete the database upgrade, because PM 4.2 is stuck on the syncing of the Address Book. Now I am stuck because the backup of my database wasn't complete. [alert admin]

QuarkXPress 6.0 (Mac OS X)

Too little too late

Our company has made the decision to switch to Indesign. Quark has been nothing but buggy. Adobe make a vastly superior product. Good bye Quark and good riddance. [alert admin]

An excellent piece…
