Prospect Keeper 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Interesting from an administrative level
Some feedback, albeit unfounded might hint to the developers that a rewording of [the] software marketing may increase awareness and use of it. I have worked for a church for over 18 years and there is a need for such software to simplify information of not only consistent congregation members but 'potential' members too. I too view the title as too narrow: [bluntly] It sounds like Jehovah Witness 'proslethetizers' knocking on your door at odd hours of the day. I apologize if that offends anyone, but I believe that that sort of 'prospector mining' is an affront to people and their privacy. I wish to add that any church is wise to utilize technology [internet and demographic information] that enhances its 'reach'. Why not? Business utilizes the same information to track PROSPECTIVE sales, clients and long-term relationships to capitilize on what they are selling. Churches rely on 'community' to reach and provide; just as business does. What you offer, will address the needs of many churches regardless of religion. Good luck. [alert admin]

OSX SkyFighters 1945 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Did this developer create Harrier Strike Mission
for the Mac back in the mid-Eighties? I still have that sim on floppy disk and instruction booklet. I think I paid $12 from MacConnection back then; it was literally wireframe pseudo-3d. What a hoot that game was. Just curious. I have tried this flisim, early in its development as shareware demo. Seemed quite decent early on. Now after more than two years, I see that it is actively updated with lots of interest from users/posters. I am downloading skyfighters again to see how its evolved. If I like it, I will purchase it; considering its ongoing development and reasonable price [as far as flight simulators goes] [alert admin]

iBackup 5.1.5 (Mac OS X)
While this version is more relevant to 'tiger' it functions like it always has for at least 10.3.9. I use iBackup every week to backup my PowerBook to my external. While this new version certainly looks better, more relevantly it's still a solid, easy-to-use backup for what I consider "mundane/pertinent" data. It is unforunate that someone has realized an issue with it on a networked system. I hope they and/or the developer resolve the issue. By the look of the total downloads of iBackup, it is popular and rightfully so. Five Stars. [alert admin]

READ: We do not need this nonsense
Google (over-hyped nonsense) can take this and their mediocre search and go back to the playpen. Ridiculous. Live free (open source) or die. The 'old-boy media' will destroy this company [alert admin]

Picture Switcher 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)
and it functions as stated. But, it's another menu item nonetheless. Simply holding down 'control' and double-clicking the desktop gives the user a 'change desktop background' popup, not to mention, other services. Same look, same feel, less clutter. Still, Picture Switcher works and offers a no-brainer for those inclined to use it often. [alert admin]

Iraq War: US Casualties 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Democracy.org; brave fighting men & women?
This is nothing more than anti-war sensationalism. The pacifists have no recollection of American history. What are we fighting for? Answer: Democracy, freedom and the American way of life. We will send brave American fighting men & women to protect US and our interests (past, present and future) The issue with the deaths of brave fighting men & women is ludicrous. The whole point of having a volunteer military is the commitment of Americans to serve our country. Most Americans still understand and feel that commitment is a noble cause. I am a veteran and if I were able today, I would be in Iraq or Afghanistan along side other Americans. And If I died, I would not want to be represented as a anti-war widget on someone's computer screen. Quit the nonsense! [alert admin]

MacOSaiX 2.0a2 (Mac OS X)
This is just phenomenal (free) software!
My youngsters and I are having a blast with OSaiX. I have several thousand photos in my library including a few hundred APOD photos saved. The results are nothing short of stunning! Disregarding the CPU usage (hog) I have printed a few mosaics on 8.5 X 11 photo paper and my kids want them framed. I am bedazzled!! [alert admin]

Ryan's Math Quiz 0.5.3 (Mac OS X)
Left column answer/number list just doesn't cut it for me. It's too easy to hit adjacent number, and a 7 year old 'tester' found that to be the case also. [The spacing seems to be the culprit] A worthwhile math quizzer, it works well and is a good reinforcement for 7-9 year olds learning basic math skills. [alert admin]

Oh, but wait. Isn't this Google, the company that can do no wrong? Bunch of math buffoons! Google sucks and this proves that everything it touches doesn't turn to gold. Buffoons I say.

That is unfortunate. I've used the program a couple of dozen times with spectacular results. OSX 10.39 and a PB TI550 and only 512M RAM [read: dinosaur]. I set it and go, and rarely does it take more than a few hours with several hundred block grid.

I use Meterologist everyday, and it still has the radar image available. As a matter of fact, I have Baghdad, Iraq set as a city preference and get timely radar images of most of the Middle East. No kidding. I'm not knocking WeatherPop, but it is average at best. The latest version of WeatherDock has a wonderful gui, but alas, is missing that all important radar image that Meteo provides.
