Acquisition 104.2 (Mac OS X)

Yes

I agree with the post below. I do think people should leave comments rather then 1 star reviews though. People are within their right to complain about the price of the app when the free alternative Acqlite functions better (more servers). Also, in reply to a post below acqlite does have itunes integration. It's pretty much the exact same app without the $15 price tag. People SHOULD be informed of this option before they consider shelling out $15. I think that is part of VersionTracker's purpose. So people know about what they are buying. [alert admin]

LimeWire X 3.6.15 (Mac OS X)

Well, it works...

I prefer the interface and speed of apps like Acqlite. But even after all of this time, Limewire still seems to get get the best search results and more importantly the most successful downloads out of the Gnutella clients. It also seems to find way more sources for each file, which I would assume is the reason the downloads are more successful. While I would prefer to be using the other apps, I still end up coming back to Limewire. [alert admin]

Still the best

Well after installing Panther i went and tried out some thumbnail apps. I ended up coming right back to psts. it still give you the most control over output pages than any of the thumbnail apps. And even though it hasn't been updated forever it still works in 10.3. This app has options that none of the other thumbnail apps have. Keeping this in mind it take a little longer to set up before you create your gallery, but you have TOTAL control. When it comes to stability, I have never had this app crash and I have used it in every operating system since OS 9. And I think the OSX betas have caught up to the Os9 version functionality wise. haubalong you have to make sure you have "Empty Output Folder Before Starting" selected. I think that would solve your problems. [alert admin]

R-Name 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Best I have used on Mac

The best, and easiest to use renamer I have tried on a Mac. Works great in 10.3. My only problem is the way it clears the file list as soon as you rename the files. This is really annoying because you might decide to make more changes. Other reviewers have mentioned the same problem. For me, this is the only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star app. [alert admin]

Um

As others have mentioned you can basically do that this product does on your own without paying any money. Or if you feel the need for an application to do it, Yadal is pretty much the same and free. Chraging a fee for this is just ridiculous though. [alert admin]

X-Chat Aqua 0.10.1 (Mac OS X)

Best for Mac

It's still my favourite Mac IRC client. It has most of the features that Snak and Ircle have already, and it's in early release. I think Snak and Ircle way overcharge as well, so it's nice to have a free option. One problem though is that I can't seem to recieve xdcc sends. Snak will recieve these fine. An update would be nice as well. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.2.8 build 6R73 (Mac OS X)

No major problems

No major problems, no visible improvements. The only problem I have had had so far is the cookies in all my browsers seems completely screwed up since I installed this. I used software update to install, and had no problems with the install. [alert admin]

iSwipe 1.5b2 (Mac OS X)

All I can say is

I have tried every version of this product over the years and had no real luck downloading files with any of them. Poisoned puts out their first version, and it works better and looks better then iSwipe ever has. [alert admin]

Pop-Up Zapper 2.63 (Mac OS X)

Hmmm

Let's see. a $30 add on for a browser that is free. And that development has discontinued on. Or, choose 2-3 other browsers that are better then IE, and have this feature built into them already...and again are free. I think some people must be from a different planet or something. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)

The biggest problem is still here

I have never given iTunes a bad review, but the issues with the SoundCheck function have been giving me real problems. A lot of people have the same problem with SoundCheck doing crazy clipping and volume adjustments. If you listen to any music that is "lo-fi" the volume jumps all over the place. The feature worked fine in iTunes 3 though. This has made the software orderline unusable for me. [alert admin]

PS

After more fiddling and reading, I found 'logging' type features in the special menu. Doesn't affect the review or anything though. It could still use some features like Bit Rate searching for mp3's.
