XC Connect 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Being the sole Mac user in a Windows environment, I have a need to keep the corporate Exchange server updated with my appointments. I have Entourage (2004) for this purpose. I hate Entourage and much prefer to use iCal as my 'real' calendar, only using Entourage to update Exchange. This means that all iCal appointments have to find their way into Entourage. Until recently I used a commercial Applescript for this. However this was last updated some years ago, has numerous Leopard issues and is slow and increasingly error prone. I stumbled across XC Connect and it's beautiful. I run in a slightly unconventional way I suspect. I am the sole user and use the client/server version on one Mac. To do a full sync I have to perform two operations; sync Ical to server, then sync Entourage to server. However, each takes seconds (compared to sometimes an hour or more for the old script) and is just a joy to use. Had to use support a couple of times to get properly configured and they were responsive, helpful and generally first rate. Couldn't recommend more. [alert admin]

DevonSync 1.2 (Mac OS X)
If you have Devonthink on more than one Mac (e.g. desktop and laptop) this is an indespensible utility to keep them in sync. Allows you to add records to eithe database and then bring the together in ways not possible ith apps. like Chronosync (which I also own). I must also point out that I had some problems with the earlier version when I upgraded to Leopard. The author has worked relentlessly with me to fix these issues. For a piece of software with an $11 tag I can't compliment the service or the product enough. Fantastic. David [alert admin]

Suddenly Very Broken Product and Company ![]()

Have used for years without issue. Since Leopard the product is very broken for me, and judging by their support forums, many others. In the past they used to be very responsive but now support e-mails and messages in the forums go unanswered. When I bought this it was stocked by Apple but I see the online store no longer lists it. Is there a connection I wonder? I advise caution with this. Would love it to be fixed because when it worked it was fine. Now if often refuses to answer calls, often doesn't recognise caller IDs, on the rare occasions it picks up a call it refuses to hang up.. Great shame. [alert admin]
