Bubblegym 0.7.0 (Mac OS X)
This might "work" on Intel macs, but it's still a PowerPC binary. My machine gets really hot playing it, which isn't a good thing when you have to hold your laptop to play. [alert admin]

This looks really good so far, but could use some customization options. In particular, the ability to restrict the thumbnail size (they're way too large for my liking, and will end up taking too much space if I thumbnail all of my photos.) I'd also like the ability to customize how large they are on the file list pane. Also, I know it's probably tough, but the ability to store all thumbnails in a central database (instead of in the resource fork) would be nice, for those of us who store our folders on network shares. ROT13 [de|en]code 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I'll wait for the one that does quadruple ROT13, or at least double. [alert admin]

OraCal2iCal 2.9 (Mac OS X)
Oracle Calendar crashes on Export
I would love to use this, but when I go to export my calendar, Oracle Calendar 9.0.4.2 crashes, without any explanation or message. I select the options (previous 1 week, next 1 monht, etc.) but it always crashes when I click OK. It also crashes when trying to export to other formats, e.g. tab-delimited data. I'm sure this is an Oracle Calendar problem and not a problem with this script, but I'm mentioning it here in the hopes that someone else has seen it and has found a workaround. I have verified this problem with at least one coworker who has the same problem. [alert admin]

ViewIt 2.8.3 (Mac OS X)
As an everyday image viewing app, I haven't seen any better. However, the one missing feature that keeps me from using it is the lack of a thumbnail database a la Thumbsplus or ACDSee. Yes, those are Windows apps, and if ViewIt had this feature, I could stop using my Windows box for image viewing. It's not that ViewIt's thumbnail loading is slow, it's actually very fast. It's just that I have 60,000 images located on a networked file server, and loading thumbnails every time I open a new directory isn't practical, whereas loading them in once and having them pulled from the local database would be much better. That being said, it's reasonably priced for what it does already... With a fast thumbnail database engine, it'd be ah absolute steal. [alert admin]

LinCVS 1.4.0 (Mac OS X)
CVS from the command line is okay, but I really like this client's add-ons like viewing the file branch history, nicely-formatted diffs, etc. If your CVS needs are anything beyond basic checkout, edit, and commit, I strongly suggest giving this a shot. [alert admin]

OK, I wasn't aware of the thumbnail standard. I do understand your desire to adhere to the size requirements, and after looking at it, I think it's possible to comply with this spec and still allow smaller thumbnails. It says you should keep 128x128 thumbs in "~/.thumbnails/normal". Well, what about a "tiny" or "custom" subdirectory under ~/.thumbnails for other sizes? Other image apps won't use these directories, so it shouldn't interfere. Anyway, just…

That's very cool. Though, I do think that having to save each folder as a separate image list is not as easy as just browsing the folders and having the thumbnails stored in a single database. The thing is, I have a lot of folders, and they're organized hierarchically, so replicating this structure as a series of photo lists would be difficult. Hopefully, you'll consider a folder tree browser pane and a single,…
