NewsFire 1.5 (v72) (Mac OS X)
NewsFire is now free. But so are Vienna and NetNewsWire. And they're both better than NewsFire.: they have more features and are much easier to use. And did you notice that you cannot delete the developer's blog RSS feed from NewsFire? It's me who choses what feeds I want in my RSS reader. Not the developer! [alert admin]

Wavepad Audio Editor 3.05 (Mac OS X)
This application is not Universal Binary. Although it is mentioned in this page that Wavepad is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Intel and Mac OS X 10.5 Intel, this is a PowerPC application. That's the information I get from the Finder (File - Get Info). [alert admin]

Vienna 2.1.1.2109 (Mac OS X)
Over the last months I've been using Vienna and NewNewsWire Lite. NetNewsWire Lite has a nicer interface, with a customizable toolbar, and is a little faster. Vienna, although not so so fast and not so "beautiful", does just the same. And it does something more: it has a built-in browser. You can read the full news without opening an external browser. To have that in NetNewsWire, you have to pay 30 dollars for the full featured version. Although I prefer the look and speed of NetNewsWire Lite, I use Vienna more often because the built-in browser is a plus. And let's not forget that Vienna is completely free! (But that's just my opinion. Everybody else has the right to think any other way.) [alert admin]

MagiCal 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)
MagiCal is getting better and better with each new version. Clean look, enough features and... a nice price. I have included it in my login items and now the date string sits side by side with the system clock on the menu bar. Very nice calendar indeed! Well... I know it does not include all the bells & whistles of MenuCalendarClock. But to use all those features in MenuCalendarClock, including iCal interaction, you'll have to pay $19.95. (That's the current price from the developer's website.) And MagiCal is free! [alert admin]

iWisdom 1.30 (Mac OS X)
Is this really an Universal Binary application? I get the information from the Finder (File - Get Info) that it is a PowerPC (only) application. I made the download from the developer's website and chose the ".dmg" file. Is there an Unversal Binary or an Intel (only) version anywhere? [alert admin]

MacReporter 2.6 (Mac OS X)
I'd like to add my experience to the previous posts. About one month ago, I tried MacReporter and liked it very much. I sent an e-mail to the developer with a few suggestions for future versions of the application. Well... I did not expect that he would rush to include them in MacReporter. (Of course not.) However, I expected some kind of feedback, to show that he cares about what users think of his software. Until today I got no reply at all! If he had dropped me one or two simple lines, I would have bought a user licence for MacReporter the very next minute. With this "Who cares!" attitude, he just lost a customer. [alert admin]

Geometer 1.4b1 (Mac OS X)
I finally found the developer's e-mail address (in VersionTracker) and sent him a mail explaining the behaviour of Geometer in my iMac. I have received a reply today. And now the problem is solved. Geometer is working! There are, however, a few features that are not active yet. It is not possible yet to copy & paste the polygones to any document. [alert admin]

Geometer 1.4b1 (Mac OS X)
Crashes about one second after launch on an Intel-based iMac, running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.8). I tried to send the crash log to the developer, but I couldn't find his e-mail address anywhere in his website. [alert admin]

First of all... If you're not the developer, you must someone related to him in any way. That's the only explanation for such rude words. Noboby classifies others as morons or dumb just because they don't agree with you. It's a matter of basic education. (Or, in your case, lack of it.) Now about the price... Even free I won't use NewFire. It went straignt to the trash when I understood that I cannot delete a…

I gave it only two stars on price because even free it doesn't deserve more. Vienna and NetNewsWire are also free and the're so much better than NewsFire... They have nicer interfaces, with proper toolbars, they're easier to customize and they both have built-in browsers. And you're not obliged to read the Master's word even if you don't want to; they both allow you to delete whatever feed you don't want. And I don't remember one…

To place the date after the time, just do this: Do not use the MagiCal clock. Use the system clock (from the System Preferences). From the MagiCal preferences, under "Misc", chose the menu position "Right". This way you'll have the calendar after the date on your menubar.
