FruitMenu 3.7.3 (Mac OS X)
I have tried (and tried and tried) to get information from the developer through their www.unsanity.com website. They do not and will not respond. There is NO information posted about any of their products and compatibility with OSX v10.6 Snow Leopard. And no amount of email requests, support tickets, etc., have resulted in any response at all. As much as I loved their products and have used them for years, the company has horrible customer service and the website is even worse. [alert admin]

TimeMachineEditor 2.5 (Mac OS X)
Though the product does what is stated, it is confusing that the system TimeMachine function is turned off. The TimeMachine option to "Show Time Machine status in the menu bar" (in the System preference) indicates that TimeMachine is unavailable and also inaccurately shows the last backup. I find this aspect to make this misleading and inaccurate. [alert admin]

Google Maps Plugin 2.7.1 (Mac OS X)
I just installed and now all of the options to "map" an address in Address Book are duplicated. When I click on the drop-down next to the address, I see two of every option: Google Directions, Locate in Google Earth, etc. HOW do I remove the duplicates?? [alert admin]

Quicken 2007 R2 (Mac OS X)
This updater has been around forever. I just downloaded, and it's *the same* update I already had and installed long ago. Intuit/Quicken is a lousy company. [alert admin]

This is a pitiful attempt to gain ground on Adobe's Flash. Even with Microsoft's deep pockets, the have attained little success. [alert admin]

Cooliris 1.9.1 (Mac OS X)
Doesn't Install -and- Doesn't Work!
I just downloaded Cooliris v1.9.1 and tried to install it with Safari v3.2.1 No luck. The icon never appears (next to the Google search field). I installed, quit Safari, reinstalled, quit again. No luck. Never worked. [alert admin]

Problems with Safari v4.0 beta (just released today, 2/24/09) I installed this new beta of Safari to check out the features. Installation replaces existing Safari software, but does also provide a "Safari4.0BetaUninstall.pkg" utility. After installation and required restart, the system basically became corrupt. Though Safari 4.0b seemed functional as I was checking it out, launching Apple Mail resulted in persistent crashes and I was unable to access my email. So... I ran the Safari uninstaller, which restored my previous Safari v3.2.1 which required another restart. UNFORTUNATELY this resulted in a restored Safari that would not launch, and Apple Mail remained unable to launch. I decided to install a fresh copy of Safari by downloading the installer from Apple's website, but I couldn't use my restored copy of Safari to get onto the internet. It simply kept crashing. So I tried Firefox, and it crashed upon launch as well. Another restart, and finally I could get Firefox to load (*only* Firefox!) to get to Apple's site and download a new copy of the Safari v3.2.1 installer. After RE-installing Safari, and another restart, I finally am back up and running. Things seem stable now, but of course I'm concerned about any other system instability. My bottom line recommendation: DO NOT use Safari 4.0 beta at this point! [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Doesn't Resolve 3G Network issues ![]()

I've installed, and everything went well. But the BUGS I've been experiencing related to the 3G network and it switching to Edge *without* losing service (i.e. NO SERVICE message) still persists. Basically, I have to turn OFF the 3G network to have good, reliable phone service. Or use WiFi. I don't even bother with 3G anymore unless I'm sitting still with a strong level of 3G service, and *really* need to use the internet. Otherwise, forget it! There are also ongoing BUGS with iTunes and the App Store where I am notified next to the Applications category on the upper left side (under Library) that there ARE updates, but when I click the arrow-icon to download the updates, am told that "no updates are currently available." And duplicates of individual applications appear in the Mobile Applications folder within the iTunes library (~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications), where duplicate apps are appended with numbers (ex: Pandora.ipa, Pandora 1.ipa, Pandora 2.ipa). I have spoken with iTunes support several times and they have tried multiple steps to resolve this issue, to no avail. Now they "admit" that this problem is KNOWN, ongoing and persistent. They said it would be resolved. Still disappointed and very frustrated. Mostly **ANGRY** that Apple will not admit to any of the problems. Yet AT&T has confirmed the 3G network issues with me with escalated tech support calls. [alert admin]

Photo to Movie 4.1.6 (Mac OS X)
I have paid for this, along with additional upgrades. The developer charges far too much, and upgrades keep costing more and more money! GraphicConverter is a much better value. [alert admin]

P.S. FYI ... once the "Getting Started" PDF is opened by Acrobat, and then re-saved, it then 'converts' from an Application file type to an appropriate PDF document.

I'm so glad to have read this post. I've NEVER been able to figure out why Entourage would automatically launch periodically without my launching the application! It's been VERY frustrating for ever. Now that I've changed MenuCalendarClock for Entourage to MANUALLY update, the problem has gone away. But of course, needing to remember to manually update MenuCalendarClock really defeats the purpose of the program being conveniently/readily available in the menu bar. So this program definitely needs…
