Microsoft Expression Media 2.0.1477.0 (Mac OS X)
Having used this product since iView, I was amazed that v2 Expression Media costs $108 USD to upgrade from v1, but they charge (same web site) $168 AUD for Australia when the AUD is 0.95 of the USD! Not only is the upgrade a joke, the pricing has M$ written all over it. I will use Leap from now on! [alert admin]

This software is a really great idea and being a frequent user of other omni products, bought it virtually sight unseen. Silly me. Nearly everyone I know (a reasonably average demographic) works on at least two Macs - the office and the portable (or home). Most folk do a backup of some sort to allow later synchronisation so you're always working with the most up to date docs. This software does not allow the copies software to open and crashes big time. The kludgy work around is to go to File, make a backup to the drive/server/etc where you synchronise, and then manually drag this file on to the program icon when on computer #2. Unfortunately prefs etc about what columns to show etc are not carried over. In the modern age, this is reaqlly a serious defect for this type of product. HAving said all that, if they work this aspect out satisfactorily, I would move this from 2 star to 4.5 stars. [alert admin]

gSync 1.1.0b (Mac OS X)
Although I've paid my shareware fee, I find that this software returns all manner of errors and although I really want it to work, it is not reliable. I would suggest a period of testing before purchase [alert admin]

To the negative reviewer of the review (!), I agree with the original reviewer's sentiments. This software has been worth every cent paid for the last 6 years. I doubt very much it was the developer who wrote these comments - they are apposite in all regards.

Only consider gSync if you don't want reliability - when costing something, think of the indirect costs. we wasted a month with gSync before moving on to something more reliable. YMMV of course - just our tale.
