iBeeZz 2.6 (Mac OS X)
I've been using iBeeZz since before the current owners took over. Bummed for the few months when it was unsupported, I was ecstatic when it came back. It still works great. However... I have to agree with the people who've observed (here, and on other Mac shareware sites) that the current owners just don't get back to you even close to promptly. I'm having a problem where iBeeZz is losing my registration. I've sent 5 emails. No response. I've never seen a software vendor behave like this. I've seen this previously from them, and it's not a confidence builder. I will continue to use iBeeZz, as there's nothing out there that does what iBeeZz does as elegantly as iBeeZz does it. Hopefully, they'll get back to me at some point and solve my latest problem. I'd be happy if they'd even just send me something to acknowledge that they got my message. Is there anything else that works as well as this? If there was, I'd switch (sadly) in a second. Software: A+ Support: D Recommended, reluctantly. [alert admin]

Compumatrix Wallpaper Changer 2.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Everytime I try to download this file, I get re-directed to a gaming site. I'm on a Mac, and I haven't suffered any spyware or virus attacks from this site, but if you're on a Windows machine, you might want to steer clear. [alert admin]

Jiggler 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Pretty cheeky, given it's a free app. Anyways, I'd like a sub-checkbox under the "application whose name contains" checkbox, "Only Jiggle when the app is active". I use Jiggler with my audio software, and while I don't want the screensaver to kick in while it's active, it'd be cool to switch it to the background to let Screensaver and/or Sleep to run normally. Jiggler 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Would make a better Pref Panel...
...with a daemon running it. That said, it works great. I don't run 40 hour lab simulations (more like 2 hour movies), but I find it useful as hell. Why Apple didn't include an "exclude application" function in their Screensaver engine is beyond me. Thanks Ben and Stick Software! [alert admin]

Compost 1.4 (Mac OS X)
Compost saved my butt this morning. I had thrown out a copy of a project...turned out it wasn't a copy, but the file I'd been working on. Thanks again, GW! [alert admin]

Compost 1.4 (Mac OS X)
I've been looking for a way to get info on the trash ala OS9 for a while. Leave it to Greg Weston to read my mind. One suggestion: the keystroke method is a bit non-intuitive, and may conflict with other app's keystrokes. It'd be cool to make it a dock contextual menu sorta thing, i.e., hold down the control key while clicking on the trash icon - "get trash info" would appear above "empty trash" in the list. But don't mind picky ol' me, Compost is the coolest! [alert admin]

X-Assist 0.7 (Mac OS X)
X-Assist is working fine for me. My one suggestion: Sometimes I want to see other app's windows, and there oughta be a way to facillitate that. Personally, I'd like to see the other apps disappear when using command-tab, but not when they're switched to in other ways (Dock, X-W's app menu, clicking on desktop, etc.). Might make a good option checkbox. It'd be great to have X-W's menu included in Apple's Finder Contextual Menu as well. [alert admin]

Compost 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using an automatic trash emptier since the early 90s - Trashman, then Trash Tender. Greg's Compost is absolutely the best one of these I've tried. Transparent, great features, ridiculously low price. A winner. [alert admin]

Screw you. Support your product. Fix your software. Reply to your users. I check my spam filter regularly, and you're not in it. How dare you blame your lack of balls on my spam filter. Face it, you don't give a shit. iBeeZz was a great product, and should be taken over by people who care. Avoid this product until it's sold to another company. This company simply doesn't give a crap....

A: Hot Corners wouldn't help the person in a University Lab situation where the machines are logged out after a certain amount of idle time. B: Hot Corners wouldn't prevent sleep.
