Acquisition 2.0v209 (Mac OS X)
Transmission is a much simpler and efficient product and what's more, it's free. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 7.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Trying to synch your data leads to mass confusion: your data is repeated a number of times and is never properly synched. A total disaster if you try to synch any data especially to .Mac. The global search function is inaccurate and is unable to locate data that is clearly within its own database. Linked to this is the password function which is temperamental and complicated to actuate. Tons of features which are redundant. Moreover, most of the features do not even work properly or consistently. This app. is a total disaster and is not even a shadow of what Sticky Brain was. Two thumbs way down! p.s. Charging 60% of the price to upgrade is just insult to injury for those who have stuck with this app since its inception. Time to jump ship. [alert admin]

ImageWell 3.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Is it that difficult to make it so that imagewell does not erase exif information? Tons of people have been clamoring that the exif data be preserved after processing through imagewell, but the developer still hasn't looked in to this. I predict that this app. will fall into disuse and eventual oblivion since it is not useful for serious photographers who need their exifs intact; and it will be dumped by a majority of users because it is no longer free. I am hoping that the developer realizes that this once useful app. is at a point where it will soon become useless if he doesn't add the features that everyone is requesting so badly such as the exif. ImageWell 3.5 (Mac OS X)
This program does everything that it says it does... and it does it very well. However, the fact that it continues to strip photographs of its EXIF information when it is run through this application is a major negative point. The maker is aware of this and has indicated his intention to preserve the EXIF info in future versions, but after so long (many, many months), ImageWell is still stripping photographs of their EXIF info. What a shame. It is major drawback on such an excellent app. Here's hoping that the EXIF info. will be included in the next version soon. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 7.0 (Mac OS X)
Chronos should first deliver on what it promises before attaching a new version number to their app. I've been on board since this was still known as Sticky Brain. Back then, they delivered on the goods and produced an excellent program, which is why it received over 4 stars from MacWorld. But since they moved on and renamed the app. "SOHO Notes", each successive version promised many features, which in fact never delivered. Case in point: faster database searches (not true - also inaccurate as it missed many key words), blogging and synching with .Mac (buggy and never really worked), robust database and stability (each successive version rendered one's data only usable to the newest version so one could not turn back and use the older version; this is sneaky and an unethical business practice for it forces one to stay with the newer version), customer support (non-existant). Just as another reviewer said earlier, it's time to jump ship and take my business to an ethical company who really cares about the customer and delivers on what is promised. I wouldn't trust this company anymore. Having been with them since the beginning, they have done nothing to win back my trust. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 6.3 (Mac OS X)
Buggy... Very buggy. I mentioned it before and I'll mention it again: the program is essentially a beta-testing program - and a very expensive one at that. The best version is 5.7.2 [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 6.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I have been a SOHO Notes users since way back when it was still called Sticky Brain. In all honesty, it really was an excellent app. - the best of its kind. However, when it changed to SOHO Notes, (beginning with version 5.0.3), it was already buggy and it converted my Sticky Brain data to a format which did not allow me to go back. Not advising the user that transitioning to SOHO Notes would prevent you from going back to Sticky Brain because the database was "updated" is just plain negligent. Furthermore, until version 5.7.2 came out, it was essentially a beta-tester app. - riddled with bugs and quirks. Charging substantial fee for an "upgrade" to what is basically a beta-tester app. is not fair play. Granted, when they reached version 5.7.2, SOHO Notes was again the superlative program that Sticky Brain was in its last iteration. However, now that they are back to version 6, the same situation of the transition to version 5 is back. Once again, they are charging an unconscionable upgrade fee for what is again a beta-tester app. riddled again with bugs and anomalies. Just do a Goole search to see how many people lost their data in the transition to version 6. And once again, it updates your data to a format that is not backwards compatible (this time, they tell you, but it is written in a way that can easily be passed over). The fact that in the course of the same month (if not couple of weeks), it has been updated twice is a testament to the fact that the people at SOHO Notes are scrambling to fix fatal bugs that should never have been in a final release. Finally, it is just bad business to suddenly pull out a FORUMS section on their website that helped so many people. Here in the good ol' US of A, that wreaks of censorship. Now we licensed users who paid cash for each of these updates must now also pay to get help for bugs that should never have been there. This is basically dishonest. It is a shame that such a good program has gone down the tubes. What's more, one cannot understand why a company would treat its loyal users in such a non professional way. For the moment, I plan to stick with version 5.7.2. It really is an excellent app. However, until CHRONOS changes its mentality towards its clients, I suspect the majority of us are already jumping ship. CHRONOS needs to do damage-control and fix the relationship it has with its clients to bring back our good faith. If not, this app. will be relegated to oblivion. My 2ยข [alert admin]

MediaCentral 2.1 (Mac OS X)
This app is ambitious but is seriously flawed (and riddled with) bugs. Perhaps if they kept it as a shareware product, they could have had more feedback by users to weed out the bugs. Afterwords, when it may have become stable, then they could have charged payment for the product. As it is, anyone purchasing this product is basically going to be a beta-bug-tester. What a shame. This app had a lot of promise. [alert admin]

There is now a new version of iWOW SRS (ver. 1.1.0). For some reason it is only available at their web-site; it is not listed on versiontracker nor Macupdates. The new version now works with 10.4.8 and iTunes 7.1!
