Fragment Sync 2.654 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I have no desire to sync my files over their internet site, just want to sync with my flash drive, so why should I have to setup an account? No thanks. [alert admin]

Free Synchronize 1.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
When I tried to install the software informed me that some of my Windows software was out-of-date and would be replaced if I continued. Since I was not informed just what was out-of-date I did not continue with the install. [alert admin]

Having used this product for 3 months now, some issues have poked their heads up, so I am passing this along. First, if there is a problem attaching to the destination drive you will never know it. The software returns with a "Slot Synced" message. My backup drive, while connected, was not recognized by Windows, and a quick look at My Computer confirmed this. The only way I knew there was a problem was that the sync finished quicker than I counted on. A definite bug. The second problem comes when restoring files. While the software is bright enough to recognize that a file it is about to restore is being used (pop-up window alert), it isn't capable of picking up after you respond to the alert. As a result, any files after the "busy" file aren't restored. I copied my "Documents and Settings" folder, which includes some system files, when I tried to restore FileMyster just stopped at the file, threw an alert, then appeared to continue syncing, only the file counter provided evidence that nothing was really happening. Another definite bug. [alert admin]

FileMyster 1.1.5 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I tried another program that kept reminding me that I used it too much. This works well, is easy to configure, and does exactly what it's supposed to - syncs between my computer and my USB card. Unlike some programs you can setup more than one copy scenario, then select as many as you want to run. Others I have worked with allow you to create several copies, but I could only run one at a time. The only issue I have with it is that the text in the status bar is too light to read, if another version is created I'd suggest a darker text. [alert admin]

File Backup Pro 4.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
The initial backup seemed to go well, but the error log listed hundreds of files that it could not copy, saying that it was "denied". Most of them were pictures, html files, some pdf's. Could be a good product if it can get over this issue. [alert admin]

Allway Sync 9.1.9 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Should be labeled as shareware
I agree with designerguy1, I sync once a day M-F, after two weeks I got the warning that I was using it too much. This page should state what their limitation is on "non-professional" users. [alert admin]

The link now goes to a domain grabber, apparently he has given up on the application. [alert admin]
