Webmin 1.390 (Mac OS X)
I don't think lbrown5 has a clue about what he mentioned. I own my server, pay the co-lo bills, and do all the administration. Webmin is a time saver for systems administration. SInce I don't have OPM to play with so I have to keep costs down. I have used Webmin for 6-7 years. I just replaced a box that had over 3.5 yrs. of continuous uptime and the only time I ever restarted the Webmin miniserv daemon was for Webmin upgrades. Webmin runs a small HTTP server on the obscure port of your choice (that's how you access it) and it has a default module to configure Apache, but otherwise it has nothing whatsoever to do with the HTTP server. If you're like me and compile a lot of your apps from source then you may need to change some of the module configuration defaults. [alert admin]

Apple MacBook/Pro Software Update 1.1 (Mac OS X)
It's as if my MBP grew eight new processors! Blazing performance improvement! It even made dinner for the family tonight, cleaned the table, and washed the dishes! I bet it will leave a mint on my pillow at bedtime... Seriously, I did notice this issue but chalked it up to a software problem. Hopefully now it's gone for good. (hopefully) [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5580 (Mac OS X)
Geez... Honestly I have never had a major problem
I bought the boxed version when it was first released along with my MBP and under 10.4 and 10.5 I have not had any glaring problems with the Parallels, the guest OS, or the host OS. I run a legitimate copy of Win XP SP2 from my Boot Camp partition and I also run a Linux dist. (no X windows) from a Parallels image. I've never contacted their tech support so I can't speak for that. [alert admin]

RGB MusicLab 03 (Mac OS X)
This software deserves to be played with and have fun. Try different images, settings, etc. Take a clip and elaborate on it with Garage Band. Check out Pete Townsend's Lifehouse site for an interesting experience. Music should be fun and experimental! [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 4128.0 (Mac OS X)
Works Fine, But Glad I'm Not Having Problems
I've experienced no issues with the 3.0 upgrade, which I paid for. My livelihood depends on quality customer service and I am a real hard a** when it comes to products I've purchased. Call Nova Development and give them an earful. Speak to the highest level person you can reach. It's our money and they are the vendor. There's got to be at least one person who care's, so push until you get ahold of them. I went many, many years accepting poor service as the status quo. I'm sick of it and I don't tolerate it anymore. We're sitting on a $100K boat anchor here because efi/Fiery and Konica-Minolta can't write reasonable code. I figure two more days for the dealer to get it resolved and then the gloves come off. In the IT world we have become to willing to tolerate bugs, unfinished product, and some of the worst customer service on the planet. Time to quit tap dancing around the clowns in the market and let them know it's not an acceptable way to do business. [alert admin]

DragThing 5.7 (Mac OS X)
I was a user of PowerBar Pro under System 8-9 and since the first version of DragThing for OS X it's been on my desktop ever since. Almost the only time I ever go to the dock is to relaunch DragThing if I've quit it for some reason. It's actually the only app that I've added to the dock. A must-have in my book. [alert admin]

CodeTek VirtualDesktop Pro 3.2 (Mac OS X)
I take it the developer has given up on this product? That stinks, because this has been one of my personal favorites. The only virtual desktop program that works the way it should. Is it time to start looking for a new but less desirable solution? [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.0fc2 (Mac OS X)
So far, so good! One of the reasons I preferred Suitcase (until now) was that it did not try to reorganize or move your fonts. FontExplorer X has the option to leave fonts in their original locations and not copy them when setting up. I used it and everything is still in it's original directory. Activation works great. Preview works great. The included cache removal tools are great. Given the price I couldn't be happier. [alert admin]

Amnesty Widget Browser 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I tried the beta and found it useful, but not $19.95 worth of useful. If it were $5 the developers would have my money. [alert admin]

Transmit 3.0 (Mac OS X)
As a web developer I use Transmit as an integral part of my workflow. The integration with BBEdit works better than BBE's own SFTP client (no ftp servers on my boxes). The tabs and sidebar alone make the upgrade worth $17 to me. I've tried almost every client out there and nothing is as complete and adds to my productivity like Transmit. If you don't like the reasonable price and all you're doing is transferring files around, my suggestion is to spend a few minutes and learn the command line tools for ftp and sftp transfers. If need and want the best ftp/sftp gui tool and you're still going to snivel about the price then download the full version of Audion for free from Panic and maybe you can make yourself feel better about the whole deal. Yes, I have noticed the same issue. I've been using it around ten years and it's never taken as long from the splash screen to the actual docks showing up. I'm hoping the 5.9.2 solves this.
