I downloaded the program, installed, and it crashes every time. I even repaired permissions, but it still crashes. I close the "welcome" pop-up window, then get the spinning wheel. [alert admin]

SyncTwoFolders 1.2.9 (Mac OS X)
Syncing Keynote files--damaging files
I'm testing out this product in hopes that it can replace the "File Synchronization" that I currently use. I don't really like the way it syncs Keynote files. I understand that Keynote files are package files. If I am working on a 100+ slide file (sometimes upwards of 500MB w/ photos) and out of habit hit save at the end, it updates the modification date. There have been an occasion when I hit save, but there were actually no changed slides in the file. "File Synchronization" updates the entire Keynote file, even though all individual components are identical. I'd like to find a program that can peak in the contents and only update those changed pieces (and maybe the folder itself so that it's modification date matches). I tried testing SyncTwoFolders by creating a 4 slide file, syncing, then editing 1 slide on the original, then syncing again. Several times now, it has damaged the keynote file on the Target drive and the file will not open. I have Settings set to "Reciprocal" and "Manage Dates" with preferences unchecked for "Package" and "With extension". I couldn't find an email for the developer on his site (could only read the English portions of the site) and thought I'd try here. Any ideas? Am I going about this the right way? Asking for "softkey" after hard-drive crash and re-install
I had my hard-drive crash awhile back. I had saved a backup of the program on a CD, so I reinstalled it. I was able to find a printed copy of my purchase order that contained the registration ID/Key. However, now when I try to launch the program it asks for the softkey. I'm not sure what it's referring to. I don't see anything about a softkey number on the purchase order page. Where/how do I find out this number? I've tried contacting their website and tech support but have yet to receive a response! [alert admin]

Does anyone know if there's an upgrade fee if I've already purchased 2.1.1? Or do we need to pay the full price? Also, the developer's website says that it requires Tiger. VersionTracker says 10.3.9. [alert admin]

Cast Away 2.2 (Mac OS X)
I just downloaded Cast Away yesterday and am trying to get it to work. I'm using the "test without removing" option so that I can make sure that it treats each podcast correctly. So far, I've input all of my settings--FOR 44 PODCASTS--than then lost those settings! TWICE! Once when I quit Cast Away and then restarted it. It appears that some settings are there, but many are not (looking at the "advanced" tab). Has anyone else seen this? I'm tired to trying to get this to work without losing all of the hard work of setting up each podcast. [alert admin]

"check for updates" under help menu of Firefox
I've always liked being able to update Firefox by going under the Help menu and having the program itself check for and make any updates. Doing that doesn't seem to be showing that there are ANY updates available even though vs. 2 is now up. Does this feature ONLY work between versions on the same level--only within version 1.x. If I don't update it this way, do I just download the file and replace the old application with the new application. Will all of my profiles, passwords, bookmarks, extensions,etc., carry over into the new version? [alert admin]

Does this application not work at all with iLife '04. It states iLife '05, but I haven't upgraded to that. Are any features of '04 compatible or is '05 a must! [alert admin]

Chapter mark icon disappears on some tracks in iTunes
I've been using the trial version of iTunesJoin for a couple of days now. I LOVE that I can join the tracks, yet still access the chapter marks for each individual original track. I've used the program on several CD's so far. Right now I'm experiencing a slight glitch with one of the audiobooks. It had 4 CD's in all. I joined the tracks for each CD so that there were only 4 tracks. When I initially click on a joined track, the Chapter mark icon appears in the display bar next to the track information. On all other audiobooks/CD's, the chapter mark icon remains visible and allows you to select which chapter you want to listen to. However, in all 4 joined tracks for this audiobook, the icon appears for about 1 1/2 seconds, then disappears. When the first chapter finishes, the 2nd chapter information shows up in the display, but the chapter mark icon is gone and you can't move between chapters at will. Any idea why the icon disappears on these 4 joined tracks, but not for the other dozen that I did before? [alert admin]

I e-mailed the developer and they sent me the link to get the version that will work for 10.3.9. They said when I could later get the 10.4 version (for no additional charge) when I upgrade to Tiger or Leopard in the future.
