Passwords Plus Leopard Patches (Mac OS X)
I contacted DataViz several times and NEVER received a reply for help when PP wouldn't work in Leopard, heck even before that I had asked for more features and more updates prior to Leopard. On another's recommendation I switched to Data Guardian. Initially it felt weird/different then PP, but once I imported all of my PP data (booting to Tiger drive, exporting data from PP, massaging the data until I could get it to import to DG ... blah, long gross story) I now am very happy with DG and I am glad of being forced to switch. Bye DataViz may your company RIP on the Mac. [alert admin]

Griffin PowerMate X 2.0b20 (Mac OS X)
When i first installed this new version my old powermate worked sporadically, but when i added the 2nd powermate neither worked after the reboot. I had some time so played around ... removed the plist, reinstalled new version of powermate software, rebooted ... all works perfectly with both powermates! [alert admin]

DiskWarrior 4.0 (Mac OS X)
I've had DW since it first came out, but after placing an order for DW4 I have zippo. Customer support will not answer my requests for assistance and I keep seeing others state they have recieved their CD. I have really liked DW and will hate moving away from it. Hopefully my copy of 303 will still work when Leopard arrives or maybe TechTool can do the job, but I'm not holding my breath. It was a nice run while it lasted. [alert admin]

M-Audio Revolution 7.1 1.4.1 (Mac OS X)
There have been no updates since May of last year. Are these guys going to support their cards? My G4 MDD is working fine and I don't need an Intel Mac anytime soon, so should I throw the card out? Speakers are getting worse with card while headphones or cheap speakers using Mac are great. [alert admin]

SOHO Organizer 5.5.2 (Mac OS X)
I left an earlier 1 star review because SOHO Org & Notes just ate CPU and never showed on the screen. I finally found the right combination of searches on the forums at Chronos website. They have like a 10 page post that eventually has Apple Final Cut Pro as the culprit for my headache. I removed the audio plug-in that FCP installs and as they suggest I don't need and all works again! It has been several weeks since I could use this and I have found that it very nice to have it back. [alert admin]

SOHO Organizer 5.1b3 (Mac OS X)
I am assuming that this update is the culprit, but went back to 505 twice and this update took away 2 of the apps both times and left the rest crippled ... as in they don't power up. I had to uninstall the left-over junk and do a full re-install. [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2006 15.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Could not get the updater to work from my main drive running 10.4.5, but I booted from my backup drive running 10.3.9 and was able to run the update. Intuit is typically a day late and a dollar short on the Mac. I started using Quicken & Quickbooks years ago and now too comfortable to switch. [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2006 15.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Ah, found the problem. Went to the Intuit website and notice they do not have 10.4.2 to listed. I switched to a backup drive with 10.3.9 and was able to run R2 & R3 updates onto the 10.4.2 drive. Intuit did have 10.4.1 listed, so it might work in Tiger as long as you do not have the latest upgrade [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2006 15.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Base program works great, but neither R2 or R3 updates find a valid copy of Quicken 2006 on my hd. I guess I should be used to Intuit as something always goes wrong ... I keep 4 backup copies, three on different drives and one copy on cd ... now I laugh when Quicken corrupts my main finance file. [alert admin]

Sorry, but loyal customers are already going to buy the upgrade at a lower price so we can wait. New customers or existing customers who can't wait pay more. Business 101 is you work on what will give you the biggest bang for the buck first. Now Alsoft will start work on the upgrade CD.

Turn off your firewall protection and any spyware/adware protector. Open browser and download iTunes. Install iTunes and then turn your protectors back on.

Nope, not impatient ... Only after they refused to answer ANY emails I sent did I post. Also, I never received the software. Fortunately, I mostly use AMEX and since they are modern, this Vaporware charge was pulled from my account instantly. A couple of weeks would go by before this company apparently would respond to AMEX too, but AMEX did not bill me and eventually notified me that they had resolved…

Robbl, Ha! This is part of what I sent to Drew before I saw your reply: 'I was at Barnes & Noble the other day and watched how the gal at the register opened the front cover on a paperback and used the barcode located there. I never noticed it before and asked her about it. She said: “It’s the one that works”... ' I appreciate your reply and DL like B&N does work…

very unreliable firewire connection
I had the same problem. I tried everything and finally just out of curiosity chain the 200 thru an external firewire HD and still works to this day that way. Of course then being able to play back recordings was very bad. It turned out to be that I was using a Quicksilver 733mhz G4 (not enough power). I replaced the CPU with a Powerlogix dual 1.3ghz processer and then almost…

It's clumsy, but if you switch to any desktop that Firefox is NOT in and then switch back you will find Firefox will work (sometimes you will have to do this each time Firefox changes a page). ie: You have Firefox in desktop 2 and click over to desktop 1 and then click back to desktop 2 ... do not move Firefox from desktop 2.
