Adobe Flash Player 10.0.0.536 (Mac OS X)

Too Many Problems

I give up with Flash and Adobe, every turn I take to solve the problems I've been having is just meet with more problems. To start with I downloaded this latest beta update and now any Flash files that contains video, have this strange green mess, making it impossible to view. That's a large portion of videos these days. I tried accessing one of the previous stable releases on Version Tracker, but even when you're looking at the version 9 page, the download link remains the same (beta version 10). Also when I got to the Adobe site and try to download Flash Player, the file never downloads. The download always times out. The file is only tiny and I'm on a superfast 30Mbps Cable connection. I've tried both Firefox and Safari but it makes no difference. This has been an ongoing problem for the past 12 months. You might be thinking, so contact Adobe and they'll help. Well think again. I bought a full copy of Adobe CS3 Production Premium (which cost a small fortune) and I logged an official help support ticket for assistance with updating my address details. That was like 8 months ago, and they still haven't provided me with any assistance. I even logged additional support tickets, a complete waste of time. The company sucks [alert admin]

DragonDrop 1.013 (Mac OS X)

I really miss this feature

I still instinctive drag open windows to the bottom of the screen to keep them out of site while working. It would be great if this could work again without the dock. [alert admin]

iGetMovies 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

uuugh

If you don't want your videos to be downloaded, simple advice "don't put them online". It is the inherant nature of the internet. All kinds of files get downloaded and stored in your browser cache. Which is technically a copyright infringement, you have copied copyright protected material. So as you view this web page bear this in mind. 1. You have illegally duplicated copyright material. 2. If you think download a file is in itself an act of stealing, then you have possibly commited a criminal offense and you should report yourself to the police. 3. When released from prision may I suggest you start a lobby group, and lobby to ban the following: web browser, VCRs, tape decks, computers, CD/DVD burners, cameras, photocopies etc etc. Sounds rediculous. Yes it is. Are the police going to come and arrest you after downloading a quicktime file. Will you do time in prison for 'Grand Quicktime Theft'? But wait a minute, it is stealing isn't it?? If so are you going to petition Canon, Sony and all those other companies that produce technology that allows you to copy copyright material? I seriously doubt it. So why hassle this guy? PixxxGrabber 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Good APP but ...

some reservations. 1. What's new with this update? No information mentioned above. 2. The buy page clearly states 'Free Updates' and then a little further down the page gives you the 'Upgrade Price'. Which seems like a bit of a condradiction. I paid for version 2.1 but haven't been aware of any free updates. 3. I'm not trying to sound hostile here but I'm not sure why you would so blatantly ripoff the design of the macromedia website. 4. I'm finding that pixxxgrabber only works on about half of the thumbnail pages I visit. It seems to have the most trouble with 'SOME (not all)' sites that use URL encoded variables. 5. I can't que pages for download. I have to download them one at a time. 6. Things like CMD+ a doesn't work for sellecting all text in the URL input field. [alert admin]

DVD Database X 1.5 (Mac OS X)

More Suggestions

Thanks for adding the Amazon Button. Here's a few other small issues I've noticed. • IMDB is painfully slow. It sometimes gets stuck downloading the Movie Plot and nothing happens for ages. I've found that this normally happnes when there is no Plot listing and we're forced to wait for it to time-out before we can Add-Movie. • No field for Region Codes (That is one piece of Info that is really useful) • Normal O/S shortcut keys like CMD+a don't work for 'Select All' when working with text fields, which is a bit annoying when you're working in tiny text fields. • The Tab through the Text-Field order is messed up. The Tab order jumps up and down, with no logical continuity. • The Thumbnail images get cropped, just another thing that bugs me "sorry". • The Amazon Price Filed wont let me enter 'US$' it always seems to revert to 'S$' after I close the Edit Panel. And strangely enough if I enter 'AUS$' it reverts to 'US$' when I close the Edit Panel. • Also there doesn't seem to be a multiple page view, so if you enter hundreds of video you have to scroll through the one page. Anyway just a few things which might help to make it better. Many thanks for a great APP. [alert admin]

DVD Database X 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Excellent APP

I've just been quickly testing Movie Databases APPS today and I have to say, this looks like the pick of the bunch so far. A few feature requests. Feel free to correct me if I mention something here that is currently included. • It'd be nice if we could click on the thumbnail and launch a larger version of the cover image. • I probably would never use the print label feature since obviously the DVDs that I buy come with labels, but if I did it would be nice to print a label with a full image rather than just a thumbnail. • Some intergration with Amazon would be good, wishlist ect, just as long as it doesn't clutter things up. Being able to click on a 'BUY' button and have it take you to the relative URL. Even if you have to store this info yourself. • Personally I'd like to use the database for two reasons 1. to store info on my current collection and 2. to store info on movies that I wish to purchase. But since I'm mainly interested in Asian cinema, most of the films I like aren't available at Amazon, so I have to hunt around on the web to find versions with English Subtitles. It would be great if we could have a seperate section for 'Wishlist' or possibly the option to colour code movies you want to buy. • Also in the customisation dept, it would be great if we could create drop down menus rather than just text fields. For things like DVD Region Codes that sort of thing. • More export options would be great too. Anyway just few suggestions, excellent APP, five stars from me. [alert admin]

JFC 1.20b5 (Mac OS X)

Still Not Working for me

I double click on sample-2.jfc, JFC launches and I get a blank window with three buttons at the top 'Show, Right, Wrong'. Apart from the 3 buttons it's just a blank screen. I have a number of Japanese fonts such as 'Osaka' installed on my system. Also when I quit it asks me if I want to save. I select 'No', but noticed that it still creates a new file called 'sample-2.jst'. [alert admin]

Type Table X 0.2 (Mac OS X)

First Impressions

I'm not a big fan of Font Pilot, but it does have some advantages over Type Table X, such as the ability to view uninstalled folders of fonts. Viewing my system fonts isn't that useful. If it showed all keys it might be a bit better. [alert admin]
