MenuMeters 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Can't imagine using a Mac without it!

This is the first app I install on any new Mac. I can't imagine using a Mac without it! Very useful for monitoring the performance of the computer and troubleshooting when things aren't working well. Well done! [alert admin]

PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.1.25 (Mac OS X)

Horrible contact syncing on Mac

Tried to get contact syncing working on 2 different computers with disappointing results. Typically multiples contacts on BB and is easily confused by categories. Very inflexible and unreliable. Fortunately just got Missing Sync for BB 2 installed and working! [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.7 (Mac OS X)

No problem on 2009 Nehalem Mac Pro

Migrated user account from PowerPC G5 with 2.6 without problem. So far no problem on new Mac Pro with 2.7. Using older Cordless Desktop LX 501. I see functionality not available on PowerPC. Important note from product managers in Logitech forum on upgrade: Problem you might experience in upgrade scenario to LCC 2.70: - When install LCC 2.70 on top of previous version, after the first reboot, you might not see all attached devices. - For example, S530 desktop might display either mouse or keyboard in LCC 2.70 http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=mackb&thread.id=970 [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Crash, Crash, Crash.....

Unless this app gets pulled out of the gutter, I will not be renewing my subscription next time around. Hey, webmaster- something seems to be wrong with the computation of ratings on this app?!? [alert admin]

Deja Vu 3.4.2 (Mac OS X)

works well, but no support!

Deja vu has worked well for me for years. When I ran into a problem recently, I received NO response from developer after 3 email attempts from various addresses. Buyer beware: this looks like an abandoned product. [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.5 (Mac OS X)

so many problems...

I love the notifications system and quick access to version info, BUT this app is impeding my appreciation of this service. These are long-standing problems I've experienced most of the year that have yet to be fixed:

  • The Developer link in the lower-right corner always leads to a blank VT page. Example: http://www.versiontracker.com/php/mp/devinfoapp.php?ID=1580
  • Does not list widgets or prefpanes
  • Frequently double lists items
  • Frequently does not correctly identify version number
  • Hey techs! Please figure this out. And soon, please. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

    incompatibilities

Scroll wheels on Cordless Internet Keyboard and Click! Plus mouse do not respond to scrolling speed adjustments. Seems to be isolated to iApps such as Mail and Safari. I reverted to 2.2.2. I am disappointed everytime the software is updated. It seems there is always something that doesn't work and there's no instructions to support it. [alert admin]

    Don't hold your breath

There hasn't been a Leopard version which has worked for the last year and a half. Don't know why this software is even listed as active. Cnet must be still making a few bucks off this defunct software. Too bad.

    Swish - down the tube

After the acquisition, this product no longer seemed important priority to the mother ship. All but jettisoned! I believe they are rethinking/reinventing the product, their absence in supporting this product has done a lot of damage!

    Currency of software

Generally, VT no longer functions well. I discontinued my subscription. Download Acrobat 9.1.1 again directly through the Adobe updater.

    No longer works

I cancelled my subscription so it won't renew for this year. Too bad, they had a good thing going. Even more disappointing that there is no comment on the current status or future plans. No comment = bleak outlook.

    incompatibilities

In case you are looking for the Logitech Control Center 2.3.1 Uninstaller, you can find it in the following location. They put it on your drive, but didn't link to it: /Library/Application Support/Logitech/LCC Uninstaller.app
