Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 4.0 (Mac OS X)
I used 3.0 for a few years to sync a Treo, and then my Motorola Q to Entourage on my Mac. While not perfect by a long shot, it mostly worked. This version simply hangs with a message, "merging info" and never does anything. If you visit the forums at MS's website, you'll see this problem has been reported by multiple users, along with a host of others. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 6.2 (Mac OS X)
Has been a good program but V.6 is a disaster.
Talk about not ready for prime time. Version 6 brings numerous problems and few worthwhile new features. Notes are duplicated; the program freezes when you try to access certain notes; the sidebar is gone, etc. [alert admin]

TabView 1.11 (Mac OS X)
It does exactly what it says does. It runs flawlessly on both my MacBook Pro and PowerMac Dual G5 under OS X 10.4.9. I've downloaded, opened, played and printed over a 100 PowerTab's at this point with not a single problem. [alert admin]

Nicely implemented, but doesn't really offer much. ![]()

As one user already noted below, this software basically just functions as a "loudness" button, as on a typical home audio amplifier. The different presets pretty much just vary the amount of throbbing bass is added to your normal playback. The interface is slick, and the on/off button makes it easy to A/B unadulterated playback against effected playback. Regardless of the preset, the most noticeable effect of turning on this software is the pump up the bass and muddy everything else. Again, if you like throbbing bass without regard for reproductive accuracy, you'll love this program. If that's not your cup of tea, you'll probably want to pass. [alert admin]

Ultimately, I don't find this program much more useful than simply checking manually for updates. It constantly reports the wrong versions of programs, including itself and OS X (I'm using 10.4.3, and despite multiple reboots, it reports 10.4.2). I've installed the current version of VT today twice, but it still reports the previus version. The same for Flash and a dozen other programs. More trouble than it's worth. [alert admin]

Diet Diary 3.0 (Mac OS X)
it crashes every time I use it, so I'm going to look for something else. I downloaded the free trial and loved the interface - better than the PC program, DietPower, which I've used for years. It just doesn't run reliably on my iMac G5. It crashes every single time within five minutes of being opened. Too bad, because this really does seem like a nice program. [alert admin]
