Transmission 1.06 (Mac OS X)
I used to love Azureus, until they bloated it with that ridiculous Zune interface, which makes it pretty useless. I recently switched to Transmission, and while it's pretty simple, it does everything it says on the tin, which I what you want, really. It would be perfect if it didn't have this stupid quirk of interrupting scheduled shut-downs. [alert admin]

Azureus BitTorrent Client 3.0.5.0 (Mac OS X)
Azureus was the best bit torrent client for OSX for a while. It's such a shame. Now you get this new version with so many windows even long-time users, like me, don't even know how to configure it. That "Vuze" interface, it's like the quicktime or real players from a few years back ; just a pain ; bloated, too much eye-candy and little features. Too complicated ! Plus, they seem to have spent more time on making it look nice than actually worrying about if it works. It doesn't work !! I've been using macs for about 15 years, and this new version ? I can't get it to work ... RIP Azureus ... I've just downloaded Transmission ; boy, it's ugly, but does everything it says on the tin :-) [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.27.2 (Mac OS X)
I've just moved over to intel & 10.4 after a long ( and very stable ) time on 10.3.9. Whilst I feel as if I've gone forward with the other applications, bit torrent seems to be a step back. My major gripes are : (1) the error messages - nothing else on OSX gives me error messages like this. ( just deal with it ! I don't want to babysit an application) I hate these pop-up windows type messages. (2) the inability to stop torrents once they reach a certain seed ratio ( for a lot of torrent sites, the seed ratio is important ). (3) general stability / connectivity. It seems to take longer than it used to to download a file. To explain in simple terms : I used to just download a torrent file and let bit torrent take care of everything. Now it's like an annoying ginger step-child. I mean, these are the people who developed the protocol, so how can they be so wrong ? [alert admin]
