SpaceSuit 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been wanting something like this ever since Spaces was introduced, and SpaceSuit almost fills the bill. Almost. A problem for me is that when I change to a different space, the system keeps track of the application that's frontmost. When I return to that space, the system brings that app to the front. This is not my experience with SpaceSuit. I use DragThing, and with SpaceSuit running almost every time I return to a space, DragThing is at the front. Also, the desktop icons tend to be hidden until I select Finder. If these quirks can be fixed then SpaceSuit will be great. [alert admin]

Namely 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Such a simple little thing and yet I could not live without it! Absolutely second nature to me now. Spotlight by comparison is slow and cumbersome. When helping friends with their computers, I find myself really groping for it if it's not installed. I've configured it to activate on control-space which for me is a quick and easy key combination to find. [alert admin]

SafariSpeed 1.3r3 (Mac OS X)
Loading pages in Safari feels much faster. much snappier indeed. I am definitely happy with the results. As for the favicons, I don't mind whether they're kept or not: I'm not short of disk space. I've turned them off to see what the long-term effects may be, if any. [alert admin]

The video works just fine but there's no sound. The advice on the Forum about how to deal with this doesn't work. Pity. [alert admin]

Juxtapose Folders 1.0b2 (Mac OS X)
At last! The first comparison utility I've ever seen which provides two side-by-side lists of the contents of the folders being compared, and inserts blank lines when an item exists in one list and not the other.
Other utilities generate dense, cluttered and poorly structured comparison reports which are slow and difficult to interpret.
Further, this utility allows me to copy missing items at will.

Absolute Backgammon 4.0.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I'll have to take the author's word for it: the game does not cheat. If I can use the computer's dice rolls and do no better or worse, then that must count for something! But it FEELS as though it cheats: again and again the computer rolls EXACTLY the pips it needs to put blot after blot on the bar. And yes, point taken, maybe I'm still too much of a novice to judge objectively. It keeps me intrigued, which I suppose is commendation enough. [alert admin]

After Dark X + Fish 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I tried the Fish screensaver but, on my dual-monitor setup at least, every time a new frame of some of the fish is displayed, a white background shows for an instant. Pity. This makes it unusable: too distracting. Most of the After Dark modules are OK except for Pulsar which won't load. I'm using 10.3.6 with all security patches, etc. [alert admin]
