Google Earth 4.3.7191.6508 (Mac OS X)

I concur - Big Improvement!

This version returns Google Earth to the data load speeds of the earlier versions of the application. Zooming, panning, rotation, everything, is just about "smooth as silk" on my machine. The new interface element design is nice but work essentially the same. Definitely a worthwhile improvement [alert admin]

Leap 1.0b6 (Mac OS X)

Different File Management done the Mac Way

I have been using Leap and Yep (the PDF Organizer) for awhile now and continue to get more comfortable with them. The 1.0b6 ver changes the user interface (the Selection and Source columns on the left and the "Search Definition Bar" above these columns) to be much more user friendly than the previous versions. You will get much more out of Leap if you embrace the concept of tagging (keywords) your documents. If you take this step, Leap will leverage Spotlight to become a highly efficient way to locate just the files you need to find, right now. Once they are found, QuickLook technology makes it easy to check what you have found. It is a little less structured and a different means of managing files as compared to the Finder but is a beautifully envisioned Mac application [alert admin]

LicenseKeeper 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Practical and Useful Application....

Of course there are many ways to keep pertinent software registration info -- dedicated databases, spreadsheets, etc. What sold me here is that in this age of Internet sold shareware much of the information important to a softwares registration is provided via email or web documents. LIcense Keeper makes is easy to collect much of this info by importing the email, files and other documents associated with a piece of software. This info is stored in single database (copies of the actual files - not simply pointers) which is easy to backup. Overall, it is very useful to me. the GUI is nice and pretty easy to use. I only wish for a Listbox type grid view of the smaller pieces of data (Serial #'s, Vendor, websites, dates etc.) with markers in the grid to access emails. [alert admin]

Garmin WebUpdater 2.0.0.1 Beta (Mac OS X)

Tried it on an Edge....

It found the unit OK. Proceeded with erasing and reported it was updating ... this might take a few minutes. The Edge unit showed Loader Loading on the screen. Two hours later nothing had changed --- the Web Updater still reported updating. I had to force quit the app, powered off the Edge and then powered up again. It fired up OK but a check of the Software Version indicated nothing had been updated. I'm a little gunshy to try it again. Any other experiences? Incidently, after the Force Quit it disappeared from the Force Quit Dialog but it is still in the Dock as a running application. Bring up the Force Quit Dialog again and there it is! But click on its Dock Icon and -- no menu, no window, no nothing. Activity Monitor doesn't show it. What's up with that? [alert admin]

Tri 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Unique & Inventive

It is unusual to see a relatively new concept in gameplay. While hitting or rolling over targets is not new the motion engine in this game is and will take some practice to get the hang of it and more practice to excel. Kudos for a very nicely designed and unique game. My time with it thus far is short but I have encountered no problems yet. [alert admin]

Weather Now 1.4.1 (Mac OS X)

Nice Start - Applescript capability great

After a couple of attempts to get preferences locked on to the right port this a working OK. Applescript availability much appreciated. While I would love to see a full featured native app that could equal or exceed Davis' java offering, I am most interested in flawless data logging. (I can automate Excel to do much of what I want, if the data is there). There is compitition in this arena from another developer. Perhaps it will result in more features and somewhat quicker development. A small compact configurable widget to display current station data would be nice [alert admin]

Witch 1.0b4 (Mac OS X)

Definate Slowdowns

I to am experiencing 5 second delays before the window pops up. Earlier versions were virtually instantaneous. Tiger related? - I'm not sure. 5 stars for concept and functionality providing this slowdown can be fixed [alert admin]

Stock WatchTower 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Nice Effort

I agree this is an impressive effort. For many investors the collection of data to begin analysis is time consuming. Much of the preliminary search analysis can be completed by this software based on criteria you set. Then take the subset of stocks that pop up in the "watches" and further set trend criteria. The user interface has some graphics problems while updating windows but it is passably functional. For those Mac users who understand the basics of stock analysis or are willing to learn this program certainly could be prove to be a useful tool. At this price compared to its power it is worth a try of the demo [alert admin]

Apple G5 (June 2004) Firmware Update 5.1.8f7 (Mac OS X)

Compatability - what machines is this for??

FYI - IGM (Insanely Great Mac) has a report on this update saying it is for the original G5's (single 1.6, single 1.8 and dual 2.0) Their report says it shouldn't be installed on newer machines. Don't know where they got this info but I'm passing it along [alert admin]

Apple G5 (June 2004) Firmware Update 5.1.8f7 (Mac OS X)

Dual 1.8 Compatability

The firmware never installed itself on my Dual 1.8. Afterwards I double-clicked the updater and a dialog popped up saying - The updater is for specific models and will not run on this machine (or something close to that) [alert admin]

Apologies & reassurances

As of 1/19/06 I find links to the developers website broken and email to him returned undelivered. I am interested in registering the program but lieu of this situation and past difficulties with other clients some serious reassurance (Version 4 being posted, email dialog etc) will be necessary for me to think about proceeding.
