Mail Act-On 2.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Mixed feelings...

While this program fills a much needed gap in Apple's Mail program, there are a couple of things that have dulled the glow of having my outbox organized. Since installed, my Mail rules preferences windows run extremely slow. For instance, when naming a rule, typing letters in the field to name the rule take anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds to actually appear on the field. Menus have become sluggish with the same delay. I have been unable to get anything other than the included keystroke rules to work. Emails to the author have gone unanswered thus far. [alert admin]

GuancheMOS 1.6 (Mac OS X)

Kind of hard...

To get past the statement on their website... "No additional fees. As a licensed user of GuancheMOS you doesn't have to pay any additional fee for include the GuancheMOS features on all your current or future projects." I also doesn't have to support developers who can't form a grammatically correct sentence. [alert admin]

Apple HP Printer Driver 2.2 (Mac OS X)

Who cares?

Who cares anyway whether HP releases a new printer driver? I for one will never purchase another HP product again. After they lied about providing drivers for their products compatible with Leopard, then failing to produce them, and in the process, breaking the usability of many of their products, enough was enough. Bought a Brother. Not disappointed yet, and it works great with Leopard. [alert admin]

File Compare 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Does not compare?

No matter what files I drag onto File 1 and File 2, it always says they are the same??? In other words, it doesn't work.... [alert admin]

EagleFiler 1.2.4 (Mac OS X)

Whoa Nelly...

Kernel Panics or quits EVERY TIME in the middle of indexing. Consistently. Would be cool otherwise. [alert admin]

Flip4Mac WMV 2.1.3.3 (Mac OS X)

Update status....AGAIN...

Very quirky that using the built-in "update" won't show this update for a week or two. C'mon people, you should have all this in place before you send it to VersionTracker. Other than that, it seems to work fine. [alert admin]

Flip4Mac WMV 2.1.3.3 (Mac OS X)

Software update not synched...

Clicking "Check Now" in the Flip4Mac software update doesn't come up with this latest version. You would think that the developer would have their update server updated FIRST before VersionTracker, a third party.... [alert admin]

Backup Platinum 3.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Poor customer service...

We have been experiencing problems with Backup Platinum connecting to our server for nightly backups. We email technical support several times, received a response or two in the beginning, but now all communication with the company has stopped for some inexplicable reason. We have since sent several emails which have gone completely ignored. The product works fine to an external hard drive, a second hard drive, to a folder on one hard drive, but it does not work properly to a server. Further, technical support seems to be absent, which is disappointing for a piece of software that costs $69. [alert admin]

Frenzic 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Trial period broken, or WAY too short...

I played the game for exactly 3 minutes (and lost pretty quickly still figuring it out). I went to click start to try again, and it would not let me play any more. I quit, relaunched, it told me I had 0 minutes of gameplay left on the trial. Sheesh...3-minutes seems a bit too short to figure out whether I like this game or not... [alert admin]

they didn't lie to me.

That's the key...."just got an all-in-one". Of course they are going to support their brand new products. It's the ones that are just a couple of years old that they said they would have Leopard support for and they still don't have it to this day. I won't support companies with a throw-away mentality. In particular anything less than 3-years old.

Would be nice

Yes, it would be nice...in a perfect world. You obviously took the time to post your app on VT, it only makes sense that you should "occasionally" check to see what kind of reviews it's getting. That can be a big clue as to what needs to be worked on, not just problems that are happening. I'm surprised that VT doesn't have some kind of notification feature that sends the developer an email when something gets…

Trial period broken, or WAY too short...

As far as I know, I've never even seen this game before, or had any version of it installed on my computer.

Yes they have OSX version

Everybody seems to be missing my point... I've been using a Mac for as long as Capilano has been offering electronics software...but that's not the point... It just seems sloppy that you click on the link here at VT to visit the developer's site, and the first thing that pops up is an OS9 screenshot of the software. OS9 is dead. Osmond is listed as OSX software. Why not show a screenshot of the OSX version?…
