iWire! Broadcast 1.3 (Mac OS X)
It's hard to know why the folks below couldn't use the product. Looks like this product provides a convenient listing window of stations and transparently uses the QuickTime, RealPlayer and Windows Media Player plugins to play what you select, while staying in that same window. [alert admin]

DivX 5.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Beware of divx.com. Most of the movie links are objectionable. DivX Pro 5.1.1 did allow QuickTime to play several movies that had previously given compressor warnings and no video. Thanks for that but not the unexpected explicit content of the site. [alert admin]

VLC media player 0.7.2 (Mac OS X)
I was able to workaround VLC's choppy audio with a DivX AVI file by muting VLC's audio and playing the sound in QuickTime Player. I had this problem with both the 0.7.2 and 0.6.2 versions of VLC. -Open the file in QuickTime Player -Hit Continue at the compressor warning -Play the audio -Pause at 10 seconds -Open the same file in VLC -Stop it -Choose Mute from the Audio menu -Play it -Switch to QuickTime Player -Watch the VLC clock -Push play when the VLC clock hits 10 seconds -Switch to VLC and watch the video Synchronizing the sound may be difficult but should be possible. If at first you don't succeed, try again. [alert admin]

warn you when you open infected files because it doesn't scan files when they're opened. This is something version 6 and Norton Antivirus do and seems essential to avoid opening, for example, an infected email. [alert admin]

my bacon countless times. The other day I got the dreaded blinking question mark. Upon booting Norton Disk Doctor 5, I was told the disk needed to be initialized (I clicked Cancel). I ran NDD 5 and fixed everything until it said the disk couldn't be repaired and would I like to run Volume Recover or Unerase. I decided to undo the repairs instead. Then I booted on DiskWarrior and it reconstructed the drive perfectly! [alert admin]

Netscape X 7.0 (Mac OS X)
FAST! For example, loading www.macworld.com takes 7 seconds with Netscape 7 and 15 with Internet Explorer 5.1. I admit that it takes 10 seconds to start up the application initially but it's worth the wait. [alert admin]

WriteCD-RW 1.5 (Mac OS 9)
your work on this product- I would be interested in a version without the shortcomings I found in version 1.2: -Formatting each CD-RW takes 45 minutes -It doesn't support CD-Rs, only CD-RWs -Changes to Finder views don't stay -Writes to disc even when no changes made This looks like a product with some potential but the product description is misleading in suggesting that it is fast without mentioning the 45 minute formatting wait. Also, CD-RW drives can write CD-Rs, so it is natural to assume that they would be supported. [alert admin]
