I don't understand the complaints  

I don't know why anyone would want to use GSM anyway. Speex sounds vastly superior. It takes about 10 seconds to switch a vent server over. and I've never heard of a single PC user having problems with the codec, even though about 95% of the people using the server are on Windows. [alert admin]
