Flip4Mac WMV 2.2.0.49 (Mac OS X)
Flip4Mac 2.2.0.49 and Safari (Tiger): CPU usage goes nuts
Whenever I've played a WMV file in Safari and closed the browser window, Safari's CPU usage remains on 100% on my Macbook Pro 2.3GHz. The issue doesn't seem to affect Firefox. I hope they fix this soon! Otherwise this version has been behaving much better than previous versions in browser plugin mode. I can get almost everything to play now. [alert admin]

Apple Airport Extreme Update 2008-001 (Mac OS X)
Not sure if this issue is connected with this update or the Airport 5.3.1 update. I'm posting it anyway: Don't install this update if your primary network connectivity is wireless and if you are using real time audio applications! This causes your audio in/out to stutter, at least when using low latency settings (hence real time). The issue has supposedly been reported to Apple, also by various developers/vendors so I really hope they sort this our ASAP. If you've installed the update (like me) you'll have to turn Aiport off to make the audio stutter/drop outs go away. Not sure if it's possible to revert back to an earlier Aiport driver version. I'm running 10.4.11 BTW, not sure if the issue also concerns 10.5.x users. I'm on a Macbook Pro 2.33GHz with 3GB of memory. Issue discovered using Traktor DJ Studio 3.3.2. [alert admin]

Server: http://www.downloaddelivery.com/srfilecache/Mac-MVJServer.dmg Client: http://www.downloaddelivery.com/srfilecache/Mac-MVJClient.dmg Why on earth they had to switch to a server/client architecture is beyond me. All I want is remote administration of my Lexmark printer... [alert admin]

soulseeX 1.0b6 (Mac OS X)
While getting a bit long in the tooth, soulseeX still is a great client, the best Mac Soulseek client there is. Unfirtunately it doesn't seem to behave well for some random users. There's one thing though, that you have to try first, if ssX keeps on filling your HD: Turn off logging in ssX. An application restart once on a while won't hurt either. The developer is busy keeping the slsk server running and also contributing to the further development of the official (Windows) slsk client. Expect ssX to be updated after that is out of the way. When will that be? Dunno, maybe in 6 months, maybe in a year, but meanwhile I'm still (after >3 years of usage) happy with the current release. [alert admin]

Traktor 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Yes, we finally have support for the Audio 8! Now I can DJ with DVS and use Traktor's effects and stuff! Traktor just feels better than many other solutions out there. And it's really reliable for me. As always, YMMV. Oh, and did I mention that the Audio 8 looks drop dead gorgeous? I'm really glad NI and Stanton broke up. I believe Stanton still doesn't have anything serious to offer for all the Final Scratch users. Glad I sold it :D Rock on! [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.0b2 (Mac OS X)
BTW, you can also connect to a Windows 2003 server (SBS and Storage Server in my case). The product description above doesn't mention this. [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.0b2 (Mac OS X)
Since IT support in our office is one of my responsibilities and our IT is basically Windows based (except for my boxen, of course) I am really glad MS also releases their RDC for the Mac. While this is still a beta I have yet to encounter an issue with its basic functionality. I don't usually make my various local resources (printers etc.) available on the remote so I can't comment on that. I did, however, try to make a local folder available on 2.0b1 which didn't work. I've tried the same in 2.0b2 and now that seems to work just fine. So, all in all I'm really happy about this product. It serves all my needs (RDC wise). [alert admin]

Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... Yes it's nice that MS actually bothers to release updates for this, but my first reaction after seing this pop up, again after a long, long time ist the above. Having been spoiled by Parallels and VMWare for almost a year and a half now makes me look back at the VPC days and cringe! Good lord am I glad I don't have to use this anymore. Actually, I suggest Versiontracker add another item in the "Used Product For:" drop down list just for VPC: Far too long [alert admin]

Great Software but no Blu-Ray playback!
Isn't the whole Hi Def DVD format too closed/secured for an open program like VLC to be able to play that content?

Have you ever done a fresh install of the first Windows XP or even SP1 in the last 2-3 years? That's what I call update hell! You'll have to reboot a million times to make the gazillion fixes and patches effective. Office 2004 is also bad but at least you won't have to reboot (as far as I remember).

These people are the pits, the absolute worst
This sounds like a legitimate reason to get yourself a copy through more shady channels. You paid for it so you're on the safe side of legality.

Your problems with iTunes import are regrettable, but it's probably rather uncommon to have that many playlists. Did you check if that could be the issue? Also, I'd like to point out that MegaSeg, while it may meet your requirements, is nowhere near the league Traktor is in.

Thanks for testing this for us ;) Be sure to make this known in the NI user forums as well. And maybe NI should be told to put up a notice on their website as well. Cheers

Ah for fcuk's sake, what the heck is wrong, again, with the VT comment forms. I thought they finally figured how to make them work but I still get "connection lost" and have to try again just to find out that my post has been submitted thrice. Hello? Versiontracker? I use Safari, not some exotic browser!

Unsanity = low level hack. With all implications. So the issue is probably not RDC related.
