OnSync 1.18 (Mac OS X)
Hardly a solution at all. I have a CDMA/Verizon Motorola RAZR. Tens of millions have been sold. I have struggled to get mine to sync using this product with both USB (inconsistently) and Bluetooth (never). Program crashes frequently. iSync works better for me. Try iSync first. It's free. Klondike Forever 1.3.4 (Mac OS X)
This program repeated crashes on my PPC - 10.4.11. Buggy as hell, apparently. May work with other systems. Maybe not. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.8 (Mac OS X)
Bought the software --- my only browser I've paid for. Nothing I've complained about has been addressed. 1) Non-standard "Home" page configuration [*every other* browser has "Home" page and "New" tab/window independent of each other. In OmniWeb, if you open a new tab/window, you get your "Home" page --- if it's selected. This is STUPID] 2) Non-standard Tab arrangement [in "drawer" along side]. Although I've gotten used to it, I still prefer (as most people do, apparently) the *conventional* arrangement. 3) Memory leaks: well noted and documented. 4) Performance: Sluggish in comparison to Firefox and other *free* browsers. Good example? Bookmark toolbar. I try accessing a bookmark located there. It's a distinct and *very* noticeable delay --- especially when compared to Firefox, which I use most regularly. 5) Kludgy Bookmark filing: I have over two thousand bookmarks in scores of folders. When I want to file a *new* one, the dialogue box *always* displays my entire collection with *all* folders opened by *default.* Consequently, if I want to file a bookmark in one of the last folders, I can almost count (while *scrolling*) "one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one . . . " Inexcusable. How can free browsers perform better and be more regularly *improved?* Again, this is the only browser I have paid for and I *should* expect more. [alert admin]

iShow Invisible 1.2 (Mac OS X)
But "Invisibility Toggler" 1.0.3 (for Tiger) has been "old reliable" for me for over a year. Solid. Free. Still, I'm gonna try "iShow Invisible" and see if I really can use the extra "features." [alert admin]

Mariner Write 3.8 (Mac OS X)
This software is NOT ready for prime time. I'd love to say otherwise, but, for now, I'm still stuck with MS Word. Haven't tried Apples equivalent, yet. This version (3.8) is just as bad as the last one. I open a formatted MS Word ".doc" and all the formatting is scrambled. It happened with all but the most basically (or not-at-all) formatted files. Useless for me. Sorry [alert admin]

Tidy Up! 1.3.3 (Mac OS X)
I have only 4,000 songs in my iTunes Music Library. I pay attention to where I save and file things. For most people, who are *reasonably* attentive and organized, this program (roughly ONE THIRD the cost of an *new* OS, btw!) this is "over the top." Somebody commented they found "5,000 exact duplicates" of one song! Oh god, can you say clueless? Somebody like that would probably have six cartons of milk --- all opened and half consumed --- in their refrigerator. Come on, really! Think about it. If you pay *reasonable* attention to what the hell you are doing when you save or download (I didn't say "pirate" or "file share," optimistically), this program *might* be a good value if it were *free* (hell there are hundreds of useful, one-trick pony apps that are *worth* paying for but are *free*), but $30? I'm glad I know how many cartons of milk are in my refrigerator. The "5,000 exact duplicate" comment provider? You need help! He'd argue, "well, I have '100,000 songs." I'd argue, "yeah, and you probably haven't listened to more than 3,000 of them more than once," and "yeah, and how many dozen have you actually *paid* for?" But, no, I wouldn't want to embarrass him/her. [alert admin]

MP3 Trimmer 2.8 (Mac OS X)
Have the following comment providers never tried Audacity?
That would be sad. And it would explain their preoccupation with *this* program an "Fission." I'm going to at least *try* MP3 Trimmer. But, Audacity is FREE. Fission is NOT. [alert admin]

Hazel 2.1.3 (Mac OS X)
for something I can and quickly do *much* better myself (thank you) for *free.* Still, I can't help but wonder if Merlin Mann uses this program. Then again, I paid $100 for Tiger. So, *20 percent* of that --- just to do what I'm already doing (easily and well enough for free) --- for another One Trick Pony --- seems a little steep. At least for me. YMMV. [alert admin]

iAlarm 2.01 (Mac OS X)
Useless for Wake-Up When Computer Sleeps
I tested this program---repeatedly. It simply doesn't *not* wake up the computer when the computer goes to sleep. There are other options that are nothing, if not more elegant and user friendly --- and effective when waking from sleep. Alarm Clock 2.4.5 is one that has never failed me. All it takes is a one-time "authorization" to wake up your computer from sleep. And, it's free. I use a simple (68k) and very functional script (iSleepSound) with iTunes to put my computer (and myself) to sleep after a set amount of time. Then, I use the alarm clock of my choice (usually Alarm Clock 2.4.5) to *reliably* wake me up. [alert admin]

I had a similar experience a long time ago, when the product was "free" --- as in beer. So, I "donated" more than the current "price." It was worth every penny. I tend to go days without rebooting, but I usually get around to using Yasu about once a week to do "maintenance" and then Restart. No muss, not fuss. I use the Tiger PPC version, btw.

Latest system update, odd behavior
I get the same "Icon-to-the-right-of-Spotlight-icon" symptom. Annoying. Obviously *not* a "feature."

Got a response to feedback I posted with Developer online in minutes---on the weekend. Come to think of it, I got a response within an hour---on the weeked---when I had problems with another issue while I was using the FREE (trial) version. I call that "S-U-P-P-O-R-T." I still think that the registration process sucks. And I haven't used other password management software. Overall, I would have to say my previous 3-Star rating was harsh. I think the…
