dotMac Menu 1.0 (Mac OS X)

nice one

great little release, freeware is appropriate but it's a very handy menu item if you are a dotMac subscriber. keep 'em coming! [alert admin]

RealPlayer 10.0.0 (Mac OS X)

seriously.. does anyone care?

i mean c'mon, real has been a joke since the 90's! i wouldn't install this heap if they paid me a salary to use it. save yourself the headaches, if you've never heard of real, it's for a reason and if you are thinking of giving it a try again, spare yourself, you aren't missing anything. bleh. Stattoo 1.0 (Mac OS X)

i think it rox

i love this app, i can see its potential, it could use some future feature updates but that will just keep me interested, look at drag thing for example, the best launcher out there, well if you remember it didn't start out that way. i don't think this is a konfabulator rip either, k-fab is bloated and ugly. i say major kudos to panic for continuing to make really neat apps that not only work good but also keep a really smooth aesthetic throughout their gui's. i plan on buying it and i can;t want to see what future versions bring. BBEdit 7.1.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Dreamweaver what?

If you are going to build code, learn the syntax and use BBedit, it's hands-down the best coding tool out there for many different languages. I also use it as a text editor instead of textedit, etc. Stop writing bad code, trash your Dreamweaver/GoLive and get BBedit! [alert admin]

Leprechaun Screensaver 1.1 (Mac OS X)

needs work

this review is for the free version, i didn't register so i don't know if the reg version is any better in any case, this is really boring. the little Leprechaun just kind of aimlessly wanders in obviously scripted random positions. there really is nothing to it. i didn't see any "tricks" unless him sitting down and getting back up is a trick. nontheless even if he does freakin backflips i wouldn't reg this saver. i am irish too so it ain't about that, it's just a really boring saver that doesn't really do anything and since nowadays you don't technically need something to save your screen, these things are merely for entertianment and customization, pass on it. iBlog 1.3.4 (Mac OS X)

not too great

I really wanted to love this app. I first downloaded it when apple .Mac was giving it out. I have had to redo my entire blog twice because of issues with the way that this app builds it's data. Iblog posesses bloated code output and a worthless rss reader which i wish Lifli would focus more on and remove respectively. The bottom line is that until apple allows ftp access to idisks there really isn't any good way to run a blog off your .mac account. If apple ever allows ftp i will most likely move my blogger.com blog over but until then i am not going to risk losing months of blogging about my pregnant wife and baby again. My advice, first don't blog on .mac, get yourself either an account at blogger.com or setup moveable type (http://moveabletype.org) or bit5 blog (http://bit5blog.sourceforge.net/) save yourself the trouble and time spent. Sorry Lifli, you guys do have some good reviews so I don't feel to awful for my negative one. [alert admin]

iWork Vs. Studiometry

i too purchased studiometry and became quickly frustrated and disappointed in it. I found iWork and haven't turned back. This is the best there is for small invoicing and accounting, if quickbooks is way more than you need but word isn't enough, get this app.

Cooling Off Period?

if you are talking about the anti-spam blocker where if you send multiple messages within a period of time and you get this error: The AIM service could not send the message: You have sent too much data too quickly. Please wait a little while before sending more. This has not been "fixed" i am not even sure it's an ichat issue, i think it's an AIM issue.
