SilverFast Ai (Linotype) 6.1.0d1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Lasersoft came through with the middle lens for the Circon from version 6.023 I believe. With the few necessary bug fixes Silverfast proves itself now to be an invaluable tool for professional scanning. The application works consistantly well in OS9,X and Windows. It allows negative scanning with nice control and high bit scanning for aging abandonned scanners. Silverfast allows or betters the excellent Linocolor scans to be had for a price that's well within reason for a truly pro scanning application. [alert admin]

scanner driver is incomplete with the intentional omission of vital functions from the OEM. For example the mid lens on the Circon is not included in the driver. No warnings are given , not on their site or read me on the application CD. The documention is also generic and no driver specific documentation is given. Otherwise the Silverfast application is quite good and allows scanning under OSX. I take off a lot of stars for misleading buyers, although this is not a reflection of the quality of the application. Canto Cumulus 5.0.10 (Mac OS 9)
fud crap you guys are giving out? The download was fluid as water 75Kb/s, installed perfectly and fired up without a hitch. Cumulus has always worked well and is the choice for serious catalouging tasks cross platform. [alert admin]
