Ghost Action 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I have been using the 1.2.22a alpha version available from the developer's site and it has worked flawlessly for me on OS 10.5.1. I tried iGTD and OmniFocus for several days and now have gone back to Ghost Action. I find it much simpler and more reliable, especially syncing home and office computers using .mac. [alert admin]

SOHO Organizer 6.0 (Mac OS X)
Charging $49 for a upgrade from 5.x is an insult. As the reviews below note, it is only in the last update (5.7.2) that Organizer has begun to function reliably. And while most (not all) of the syncing and data loss bugs seem to be fixed, 5.7.2 is still a CPU hog and very, very slow. And even in 6.0 some of the most basic features one would expect, like visible dates for tasks, have not been implemented. I bought SOHO Organizer back in December 2005. Only in the last month or so has it been worth starting up. Now Chronos wants $49 more. They must be kidding. [alert admin]

JournalX 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)
Is another notepad application needed especially when there are already such excellent choices like Hog Bay Notebook and Devon Note? Plus, JournalX looks and behaves much like EZ Note X released back in March. It has the same Finder integration and but with many less features than EZ Note. [alert admin]

Dock-It 2.4 (Mac OS X)
I like the idea of this app. I have downloaded and tried it several times over the last year or so. But every version is the same: completely unstable and constantly quits. After so many versions, and all with the same result, I will now (not unexpectedly) quit trying this developers products. [alert admin]

Opera 8.0b1 (Mac OS X)
This seems to fix the previous freezes. Now it is the fastest browser of all with a unique feature set. Even the mail section of great to use. Excellent! [alert admin]

EZNote X 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This notepad is unique because it is fully integrated into the Finder. Add a .rtf file to the eznote folder and it appears in the program. Or, you can navigate to and then edit any text file from within the program. Files are never lost in a database, and they are easily backed up and shared. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for Palm OS 4.0.3 (Mac OS X)
This is beta level software sold at a premium price. It usually takes three or four attempts just to get the software to start up (just like an early beta!). Unless you need a specific feature and you are willing to put up with much frustration, there is no reason to use this software when Palm Desktop is available. I’m sure they will fix the problems eventually (did you see the number of fixes in 4.0.3 update?) but by then they will charge a hefty upgrade fee. [alert admin]

Nisus Writer Express 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)
With 2.0.1, Nisus Express is now my first choice in word processing. It is easy to use with features that help you focus on writing and formatting, not distracting you from your main task. It is unfortunate that previous releases have had bugs so annoying that it has caused many potential users to give up on this application (the constantly occuring “internal error” message of 2.0 is the example that first comes to mind first). But now is a good time to try Express again. [alert admin]

NoteTaker 2003 1.8.9 (Mac OS X)
NoteTaker has matured into an outstanding application. One feature that sets it apart is the way the cell structure is fully intergrated into the OS text processing resources. For instance, “favorite styles“ are menu items that can be assigned keyboard shortcuts. The result is an outstanding writing tool: from material gathering, to organizing by cells, to TextEdit quality formatting. I don’t know of any other tool that does all this so well. [alert admin]

Mariner Write 3.6.1 (Mac OS X)
This is an outstanding word processor. I own Word 2004, Mellel, and Nisus Writer Express, but this is the one I turn to most often because it combines an abundance of usable features, lightening speed, and rock-solid reliability. And now it works great with Spell Catcher X. [alert admin]

You have used the SOHO Notes? Maybe never used it with .Mac syncing? If you really want to see how messed up an application can be, try SOHO Notes or Organizer for a while with .Mac syncing, maybe your PDA, and you will have issues. Lots of issues.

No mistake. This is the Organizer comment thread, not Notes.

It is hard to believe that comments like that dare become public. Have you ever discovered what other software is not made in the good'ole USA? So shocking! Demonic minded xenophobia is not needed here.

Maybe a little cultural flexibility would help when reviewing software by Japanese authors. Then maybe fish icons wouldn’t seem so wierd.

Is this a beta version? At least, I think it should be. ![]()

These seem like this person's system problems, not a problem with Mariner Write!
