Canon CanoScan LiDE 20 7.0.1.1X (Mac OS X)
Canon has real corporate problems. ![]()

The Canon website is almost useless. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DRIVER FOR LEOPARD THEN SAY SO. I LOOKED ALL OVER THE SITE TO CONTACT CANON and it was to no avail. I guess they really don't want to hear it. I plan on NOT buying anymore products. I don't like seeing them go into the garbage dump just because they can't get it together on drivers. The LIDE 20 has always had STUPID software problems and a great piece of hardware. You'll spend hours on this one as CANON won't give customers a clue. Next, I'm going to look for their phone number off their site, where all the real help comes from. Canon needs a new CEO if this is the best they can do. No more anything from Canon until I'm confident they are becoming a better company. [alert admin]

iSale 4.4.2 (Mac OS X)
I've experienced most of the problems listed and have been frustrated by support. They keep spamming me with a link to stop the spamming, but that link was frustrating and didn't work. Here's my last response to iSale staff sending me the link to remove myself from their list (which they cannot apparently do on their own????? I have switched happily to using GarageSale over a month ago since your program, your support, etc, haven't been working for me for months, if not years. I assume it's an ebay, equinux problem, but it is not a good business situation for me and my company to depend on your company. I'm just writing off the money wasted thus far and simply wish you wouldn't send me any more emails. Your company is beyond redemption at this point and its reputation reflects customer disappointment. (Then to send me the link again, is simply adding insult to injury. JUST REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LISTS PLEASE.) [alert admin]

This is an interesting product and nobody seems to have answered from GarageBuy about how it is totally useless and non-functioning. Maybe a negative rating will wake 'em up? [alert admin]

Something's Wrong with this Company ![]()

Software has many, many short comings. It doesn't keep up with eBay and smart sellers must go to eBay to revise their listings to make it work. Many features simply don't work at all. Tech support is almost non-existent. It appears that this company either doesn't have a good enough relationship with Ebay, hasn't got the resources to fix its problems or simply is going out of business. Who knows? Right now, I am planning to figure out how to use the templates without iSale. I hate showing my buyers the iSale symbol. That would be misleading them into what may ultimately be a dead product. Still is not a complete answer to Ebay ![]()

iSale does not seem to elegantly or otherwise, handle relistings well. It also doesn't download those relistings into my auctions. Templates are not the classiest and photos in templates seldom apply to my auctions. I designed my own brushed metal template, but it lost the automatic features of the iSale templates. I want designs that are more elegant and more photo choices that represent my auctions better. There's way too much music stuff. I reluctantly paid for the upgrade and am not sure how that's going to benefit me yet. I'm constantly tempted by eBay's own templates. If iSale were a hair better, it would eliminate all competition with eBay or Garage Sale. I was tortured choosing between the two outside of eBay programs. Come on design staff, MORE FREE TEMPLATES WITH MORE APPLICABLE AUCTIONS AND IMPROVE THE AUCTION TRACKING SO I CAN ALWAYS USE ISALE EFFECTIVELY. [alert admin]

Intuit QuickBooks Pro 2006 8.0.3 R4 (Mac OS X)
Quickbooks is Unstable and virtually unusable at some point ![]()

Upon entering a new account, using the downarrow crashes the program. Then, when you verify data, you find that it is corrupt. Then you rebuild the data and the same problem happens the next time you try. Quickbooks support went through all the hoops and could not resolve the problem. Therefore, it is a problem in either the software or its relationship to the apple operating system. This is so frustrating because of all the programs we use, our bookkeeping should be the least corruptible. I found these same problems with Intuit's other Macintosh products such as Quicken. Intuit, over the years, has not been able to resolve this extremely important issue of maintaining our data safely. [alert admin]

MarketBlast 1.11 (Mac OS X)
Program loaded, Help Menu showed no help. Tried to upload items into inventory using various methods, all of which either didn't work or hung the program requiring a "force quit" each time. You are giving some sensitive information during demo process, so I guess I better trust MarketBlast folks with my Ebay user information???? Also, the email left me thinking that it would download that account into MarketBlast and no longer into Apple's Mail. I'm not sure that I would like that. Marketing called me numerous times about buying the product insisting that it was a great value. Considering that I just purchased iSale with its limited but working tool set, I was reluctant to purchase something who's featured are shared with Ebay and PayPal already for $100. Upon emailing tech support, I received no reply due to their being at a convention in San Francisco???? Hopefully they will get back to me with some explanations for the poor performance of the demo. Until then, I'll stick with using my iSale, Quickbooks and Ebay to at least some efficiency. The world waits for the right program. Maybe someday this one will be it, but for now, I'm tired of financing software company bug fixes like those with Microsoft and Macromedia. Someday we all have to stand up to that sort of thing. I don't get to play games much as I'm always using my Mac for other things. However, this is simple enough to learn and I assume will give me enough levels to last me my lifetime. I don't need any more game than this. Perfect. Thank you. [alert admin]

iSale 1.7 (Mac OS X)
I purchased a copy at the Apple Store. It would not register and there is quite obviously no support for the product. I couldn't find an Equinux phone number either. So I drove the 30 minutes to Apple and waited 20 minutes for a sales rep. Then I demonstrated the inability to register the product that I had paid $40 for to the salesman. He promptly refunded all my money. Equinux is the kind of "unsupportive" company we all have to quit supporting. Non- respons (ible). [alert admin]

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. It is inelegant and I always have to edit the item after I post it on eBay to get it right. You can easily lose lots of money if you don't. Might as well do the whole thing in Ebay which is what Ebay wants, so they can charge you up the ying-yang for their templates, etc. How this got a design award is beyond me.…
