SilverFast Ai (Epson) Expression 1600 6.4.2r9 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
It makes a good scanner a solid piece of Studio equipment 
We've had our Epson 1640XL with tranny adapter for a few years and struggled with the Epson software. I tried VueScan which was OK, but didnt' rock. My IT guy recommend SilverFast for both my Epson and Nikon CoolScan 8000. It's great! Simple. Fast. Esat to install and setup. Calibration is easy as clicking OK. Every one of my Studio guys works it fine. I haven't bothered upgraded latest few versions because the offer TOA??? proofing stuff, I just need a scanner. I also don't bother with de-screening, I find it much easier to scan to a seperate drive for speed and scann at 600DPI or higher, then blur. [alert admin]
