XFolderSets 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This was a great idea at the time and a fun project to do. It was one of the first programs I ever wrote with REALbasic, and mostly on a Powerbook 1400. I only wish I'd developed it further! Fortunately there are a few great alternatives available. Personally, I like Finder Window Manager the best. [alert admin]

MacMAME 0.103u2 (Mac OS X)
The MacMAME project is no longer active because of Brad Oliver's work obligations as a program writer for a respectable software company and he has also cited Apple's deprecation of Carbon. (...and it came out a diamond!)
MAME is still under development and on the Mac there are a few projects.
First is MAME OS X - a special Mac version that takes advantage of all Mac OS X's core technologies.
Second is SDLMAME which it looks like you have to compile yourself (lots of information at rbelmont.mameworld.info).
Third is Advance MAME and Advance MENU which runs in X-Windows and can be installed through FINK.

TabletDraw 0.5 (Mac OS X)
I can't wait to try this with TabletMagic when I get back from Burning Man! Currently people using TabletMagic have to use Adobe Flash to get natural line drawing (Painter IX works great too) because Photoshop and Illustrator are handicapped when it comes to non-Wacom tablets or alternative tablet drivers. I assume this program uses Apple's tablet APIs (like all programs should!). From the screen shot it looks like it produces some fine results! If TabletDraw can produce vector art, I'd definitely adopt it and recommend it to TabletMagic users. I'll report back after giving it a try! [alert admin]

Google Image Search Widget 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Google changed their results page and it broke this widget. Fortunately the code is just as easy to scrape as ever - maybe easier. So until this widget is updated, try one of the many fine alternatives available from Apple's Dashboard Downloads page. [alert admin]

FretPet X 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Greetings from the developer! I suddenly became curious tonight. Why has no one reviewed this program yet? Rather than fall under the spell of this inexorable conundrum I decided to appeal to the community. Do you love it? Do you hate it? FretPet needs your reviews, good or bad, to grow into a better program that does more, better, and maybe one day in 3D. Thank you for your time! [alert admin]

TabletMagic 1.0b4 (Mac OS X)
Hi, The preferences file changed in this version of TabletMagic. I wasn't sure if it would cause problems. Apparently it has for some. If you have trouble launching the configuration program delete the existing preferences file, "com.lahteine.tabletmagic.txt" located in your personal Preferences folder and try again. - Scott [alert admin]

FinderWindowsets 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This reminds me a lot of XFolderSets, except it seems to be a bit quicker and it preserves the window positions. XFolderSets has more options and a nicer interface. Since they're both free I think I'll keep them both! [alert admin]

Acquisition 0.82 (Mac OS X)
gone from my system. I especially love the way it automatically puts new MP3s into iTunes - in a playlist named "Acquisition" no less. Greate design too. If it's possible to poll more servers in the next version that would be nice. [alert admin]

Someone also put a great deal of time and effort into writing a manual with a brief tutorial in its early pages. While I appreciate your comments about the viewing size (FretPet was written at a time when giant megapixel displays were rare) it is clear you did not approach the program on its own merits, but applied criteria beyond the program's intent to rate it. For those who can take this program on its own…

The Trust and Aiptek tablets discussed here are USB tablets, and are not in any way the target hardware for TabletMagic, which deals exclusively with tablets that have RS232/42 serial interfaces. This includes older tablets made by Wacom and the digitizers of modern TabletPC computers, plus a few other models. These tablets all use a common family of communication protocols as well.

I'm working on Intuos support as we speak, and I can always use more testers. Contact me through http://sourceforge.net/projects/tabletmagic to get a logging version of TabletMagic and to coordinate testing and feedback.

Hello, it's me, the developer. ADB support simply isn't technically possible in Mac OS X. I wish this was not the case, but it is. I've detailed the reasons why ADB support isn't possible in other posts and on the SourceForge project page, and I won't reiterate them here. Next time, please do your research before settling on conspiracy theories. Peace, Scott Lahteine
